GREECE, TURKEY & THE GREEK ISLANDS

APRIL 8 - 22, 2023

SOLD OUT

It’s easy to fall under an eternal spell of romanticism during a cruise vacation in Greece and the Greek islands. The eastern reaches of the eastern Mediterranean were the crossroads of many influential civilizations of antiquity, from the Phoenicians to the Mycenaeans to the Athenians and still more, as historic sites bear witness throughout the islands of the Dodecanese chain.

No other country has given the world so much cultural heritage. The country’s lauded history and multifaceted architecture blend with incredible natural settings in port cities like Kavala and Volos— a spellbinding gateway to the otherworldly landscapes of Meteora in Thessaly, the lunar-like rocks of Sarakiniko Beach and blue-domed churches of Santorini.

An essential stop is the glamorous island of Mykonos, with its gleaming white-washed houses and winding lanes of Chora. The island’s main town and port, along with its famous array of beaches, combine to make it an unforgettable port of call. The Mykonian reputation for exuberance is truly second to none. Among the most popular Greek islands is Rhodes, a mesmerizing presence with its astonishingly well-preserved medieval old town and lush scenery beyond.

And then there is Crete. With an array of historic cities and a vast and dazzling coastline, it’s no wonder the Greeks call Crete the megalonisos: the big island. In the Bronze Age, from about 3000 BC to 1200 BC, the Minoan culture flourished on the island and left behind the palace ruins of Knossos, where the mythical lair of the Minotaur is among our complimentary excursions.

With its stunning scenery, fabulously well-preserved archaeological sites, and dazzling cities that redefine exotic, it’s no wonder Turkey’s popularity as a destination keeps growing. Located at the crossroads of two continents and inspired by multiple cultures, the country is a living tapestry to savor and explore.

This vast land is home to more classical ruins than in Greece and Islamic monuments than in Arabia. From the exquisite tilework found in the imperial Ottoman mosques of Istanbul to the bustling bazaars and legendary temples facing the shimmering Aegean coastline, an indefinable essence called enchantment comes with the territory. This cruise gives you the opportunity to discover renowned Biblical sites visited by the Apostle Paul. From the House of the Virgin Mary at Pergamon to the remarkable ruins of Ephesus and more.

Join Sisterhood Travels and Cool Retired Women for this incredible journey throughout Greece, Turkey, and the Greek Islands. Sisters – you can bring Misters if you’re so inclined. We encourage you to invite your friends and family (as long as they’re adults, of course) to join us as well!
