COSTA RICA ADVENTURE

March 15 – 27, 2027

A Women’s Rainforest & Volcano Journey

A Bold Journey into the Heart of Pura Vida

Some trips are relaxing. This one is transformational.

Join us in March 2027 for a Costa Rica women’s adventure tour into one of the most biodiverse places on Earth. From lush rainforest and winding jungle canals to towering volcanoes and Pacific beaches, this journey showcases the very best of Costa Rica’s wildlife, landscapes, and culture.

We’ll explore Tortuguero National Park, search for sloths and monkeys in the rainforest, walk high above the jungle on the famous Arenal hanging bridges, and discover lava fields beneath Arenal Volcano. We’ll cruise mangrove waterways in search of crocodiles, visit sustainable cacao and coffee farms, and experience the white sand beaches of Manuel Antonio National Park.

But this Costa Rica adventure is about more than sightseeing.

It’s about bravery. It’s about saying yes to zip lining through the canopy, stepping into unfamiliar terrain, opting for your first whitewater rafting trip, and choosing growth over comfort. And it’s about doing it alongside a circle of supportive, adventurous women who make every bold moment even more meaningful.

Activity Level 4

Activity Level:

Busy

This Costa Rica Adventure is best suited for women who are comfortable with regular physical activity and varied terrain. The journey is immersive and nature-focused, with multiple days that include guided walks, wildlife exploration, river excursions, and time spent in tropical environments. While there are moments to relax, the overall pace is active and outdoors-oriented.

What to Expect Physically

Most days will include moderate walking, often on uneven, natural surfaces such as rainforest trails, dirt paths, hanging bridges, and sandy beach terrain. You should be comfortable walking 2–4 miles over the course of a day at a relaxed but steady pace, sometimes in warm and humid conditions.

In Tortuguero National Park, transportation is by motorboat, and boarding and disembarking may require steady footing and balance. Wildlife viewing excursions involve sitting for extended periods in open-air boats, exposed to the elements. Accommodations here are in a rustic eco-lodge setting with ceiling fans but no air conditioning. In the Arenal region, activities include walking across the Arenal Hanging Bridges and optional hiking on lava field trails formed by the 1968 eruption of Arenal Volcano. These trails may include inclines, uneven volcanic rock, and humid conditions. The hanging bridges are stable and secure but suspended above the forest floor, which may not be ideal for those with a strong fear of heights.

River-based experiences such as the Peñas Blancas safari float are gentle and suitable for most travelers with basic mobility. The optional white water rafting excursion on the Balsa or Sarapiquí River includes Class II–III rapids and requires the ability to paddle, follow guide instructions, and sit securely in a raft for approximately 1.5 hours. In Manuel Antonio National Park, walking trails are a mix of packed dirt and uneven surfaces. There is also the option to swim at the beach, which requires navigating sand and ocean surf.

Travel Days

Several travel days include transfers between regions by coach and boat. While distances are manageable, road conditions may vary, and some days will involve multiple hours of transit broken up by sightseeing and activities.
