HIGH ARCTIC LUXURY POLAR EXPEDITION CRUISE

July 8 - 20, 2027

Where Ice, Ocean, and Sisterhood Meet

A rare journey through Svalbard, Jan Mayen, and Iceland

Some places on Earth are so remote, so wild, and so rarely reached that visiting them feels less like travel and more like stepping into the pages of exploration history. The High Arctic is one of those places.

This extraordinary luxury polar expedition cruise takes you far beyond the ordinary world — into the icy realm of Svalbard, the Greenland Sea, Jan Mayen, and the remote Westfjords of Iceland. It’s a place where towering glaciers spill into the ocean, whales surface in the endless Arctic horizon, seabirds fill the skies, and the most iconic symbol of the north, the polar bear, still roams free across drifting sea ice.

Few travelers ever reach these latitudes. Even fewer experience them in the comfort of a luxury small-ship expedition vessel designed specifically for polar exploration. With expert naturalists, Zodiac excursions, and carefully guided shore landings, we’ll venture into some of the most untouched environments left on Earth.

But what makes this journey truly powerful is who you share it with. Traveling into the High Arctic requires curiosity and a spirit of adventure. Standing on deck under the midnight sun, scanning the ice for polar bears, or stepping ashore on a remote Arctic island feels different when you’re surrounded by a circle of bold, supportive women who came here for the same reason you did: to experience something extraordinary.

Arctic Map

A journey that challenges you, inspires you, and reminds you how vast and beautiful our world truly is. And when you experience it with The Sisterhood, the adventure becomes even more meaningful with shared moments, laughter, awe, and friendships formed in one of the wildest places on the planet.

Join us for the High Arctic Luxury Polar Expedition Cruise 2027 — and step into the adventure of a lifetime.

Trip Highlights

OUR ITINERARY

July 8 – 9, 2027

Welcome to Oslo, the vibrant capital of Norway and the starting point of our High Arctic luxury expedition adventure. After arriving from your overnight flights, these two days are yours to rest, relax, and ease into the journey ahead.

Take time to recover from travel, connect with your new Sisters, and explore Oslo at your own pace. This fascinating city blends modern Scandinavian design with rich Nordic history, and the revitalized Oslo harbor district is a wonderful place to begin. Stroll along the waterfront, enjoy a café overlooking the Oslofjord, or browse the city’s shops and galleries. You may also wish to visit one of Oslo’s renowned museums, such as the Nobel Peace Center, which celebrates the legacy of the Nobel Peace Prize, or simply wander the city’s lively streets and parks.

These relaxed days offer the perfect opportunity to settle in before our Arctic expedition begins.

This morning we’ll take a charter flight from Oslo to Longyearbyen, the northernmost town in the world with a permanent population and the gateway to the High Arctic.

Set in a dramatic valley along the shores of Adventfjord, Longyearbyen is surrounded by rugged mountains, glaciers, and sweeping Arctic wilderness. Before boarding our expedition ship, we’ll have time to explore this fascinating frontier town. Wander the small-town center, browse local shops for any last-minute Arctic essentials, or visit the Svalbard Museum, which offers a fascinating introduction to the history, wildlife, and exploration of the region.

Later this afternoon we’ll make our way to the harbor to board our luxury polar expedition ship. After settling into our cabins and attending the ship’s welcome briefing, we’ll set sail at 6:00 PM, leaving civilization behind as we begin our unforgettable High Arctic expedition through the Svalbard archipelago.

Over the next three days, we’ll venture deep into the remote wilderness of the Svalbard archipelago, one of the most extraordinary regions of the High Arctic. This is true expedition travel, where each day unfolds according to wildlife sightings, sea ice conditions, and the expert guidance of our Captain and expedition leaders.

Our route is intentionally flexible, allowing us to follow the best opportunities for exploration. The Captain will skillfully navigate through ice floes, glaciers, and Arctic waterways, working closely with the expedition team to determine the most rewarding landing sites and wildlife viewing areas.

During these days of discovery, we’ll head out on Zodiac excursions and guided shore landings, giving us the chance to explore remote Arctic landscapes up close. The islands of Svalbard are rich in wildlife, and we’ll keep watch for reindeer, Arctic foxes, puffins, and Arctic terns, along with whales that occasionally surface in the surrounding waters.

Of course, one of the greatest thrills of the Arctic is the possibility of spotting the region’s most iconic resident — the polar bear. Our expert naturalists and onboard photographer will help us scan the ice and shoreline for wildlife and capture the incredible scenery along the way.

Today we sail across the vast Greenland Sea, where endless Arctic horizons and open waters create ideal conditions for whale watching. During the summer months, these nutrient-rich waters often attract minke whales, humpback whales, and fin whales, with the occasional sighting of the magnificent blue whale.

As we cruise through this remote stretch of the Arctic Ocean, keep watch along the swells for seabirds gliding above the waves and whales surfacing in the distance. The constantly changing light of the High Arctic often transforms the sea from shimmering silver to deep indigo, creating a striking and ever-changing landscape.

This peaceful day at sea also offers time to relax on board and enjoy informal talks from our expedition team, who will share insights into Arctic wildlife, exploration history, and the unique ecosystems of the polar regions as we continue our journey deeper into the Arctic.

Today we hope to reach one of the most remote and seldom-visited places in the Arctic Ocean — the extraordinary island of Jan Mayen. Few travelers have ever set foot on this isolated volcanic outpost, making a landing here a true highlight of any polar expedition cruise.

Rising dramatically above the sea is Beerenberg, the world’s northernmost active volcano. Its massive glaciers spill down toward the coastline, creating a striking landscape of ice, lava fields, and rugged black-sand shores. The island is also home to thriving seabird colonies, where fulmars, kittiwakes, and other Arctic seabirds fill the cliffs and skies.

If conditions allow, we’ll go ashore to explore this remarkable environment and experience the raw beauty and isolation that define the High Arctic.

Today marks one of the great milestones of polar travel — crossing the Arctic Circle. As our expedition ship sails northward into these legendary latitudes, we join the long line of explorers, scientists, and adventurers who have ventured into the High Arctic. In this remarkable region, the midnight sun lingers on the horizon, illuminating vast seascapes where drifting ice and open ocean define the landscape. It’s a powerful reminder that we are traveling far beyond the ordinary world.

Many mariners celebrate this moment with the lighthearted tradition of becoming a “Blue Nose,” a symbolic recognition of crossing into the true Arctic. Whether you mark the occasion with a toast on deck or simply pause to take in the endless northern horizon, this passage is a memorable highlight of our Arctic expedition cruise.

Today we arrive at Drangey Island, a dramatic sea stack rising from the waters of Skagafjörður along Iceland’s northern coast. This towering basalt island is famous for its vibrant seabird colonies, where thousands of puffins, guillemots, and fulmars nest along steep cliffs that plunge into the sea. We’ll approach the island by Zodiac, offering an up-close look at this striking natural fortress and its bustling birdlife. The cliffs echo with the sounds of wings and seabirds, creating a spectacular setting for wildlife viewing and photography.

July 18, 2027

Today we explore the remote settlement of Djúpavík, tucked deep within the dramatic Westfjords of Iceland. This tiny coastal hamlet feels worlds away from modern life, surrounded by towering mountains, quiet fjords, and sweeping Arctic landscapes. A cascading waterfall spills down the hillside behind the village’s weathered houses, while the remains of the once-thriving 1930s herring factory stand as a striking reminder of Iceland’s fishing heritage.

Wildlife is often present in these peaceful waters, with seals resting on rocky shores and seabirds circling above the fjord. Stepping ashore in Djúpavík feels like entering a place suspended in time: a rare glimpse into Iceland’s rugged coastal past and the quiet beauty of its most remote landscapes.

July 19, 2027

Today we visit one of the most spectacular natural sights in the Icelandic Westfjords — the magnificent Dynjandi Waterfall. Often called the crown jewel of the region, this dramatic cascade tumbles down a series of rocky terraces, widening as it flows toward the fjord below. From the shore, we’ll take in sweeping views of the waterfall as it thunders down the mountainside, surrounded by the rugged landscapes that make the Westfjords one of Iceland’s most remote and beautiful regions. If conditions allow, we may also explore the area by Zodiac, giving us a unique perspective of the fjord and the powerful waterfall from the water itself.

This morning, we arrive in Reykjavík, Iceland, where our unforgettable High Arctic expedition cruise comes to an end. After breakfast, we’ll disembark the ship and transfer to the airport for our flights home.

As we say goodbye, we leave with far more than photographs of glaciers, wildlife, and dramatic Arctic landscapes. We carry home the memories of extraordinary adventures, quiet moments in some of the most remote places on Earth, and the lasting friendships formed while exploring the High Arctic together.

Activity Level 4

Activity Level:

Busy

This High Arctic expedition through the remote Svalbard archipelago and Iceland’s Westfjords is designed for travelers who are comfortable with active days, changing weather conditions, and the adventurous spirit that defines polar exploration. While the expedition yacht provides a high level of comfort and luxury, the nature of expedition cruising requires flexibility, mobility, and a willingness to navigate uneven terrain and variable conditions. Guests should be prepared for a mix of guided shore landings, Zodiac cruises, wildlife viewing, and time at sea while traveling through some of the most remote regions on Earth.

Gentle Encouragement
Every traveler’s comfort is our priority. All shore landings and Zodiac excursions are optional. Guests who prefer a slower pace may remain onboard the ship to relax in the observation lounges, enjoy lectures from the expedition team, visit the spa, or take in the dramatic Arctic scenery from the deck. The experienced expedition staff will provide assistance during landings and excursions, and travelers are always encouraged to participate at the level that feels most comfortable for them.

Walking & Standing
This journey includes regular opportunities to go ashore in remote locations throughout Svalbard and Iceland. Landings typically involve stepping from the ship into small Zodiac boats and then onto shore, sometimes on rocky or uneven ground. Walking distances are generally moderate but may occur on natural terrain such as gravel beaches, volcanic rock, tundra, or uneven coastal paths. Guests should be comfortable standing for periods of time during wildlife viewing, Zodiac cruising, and while exploring landing sites.

Terrain & Transport
Transportation throughout the expedition takes place aboard a polar expedition yacht specifically designed for navigating Arctic waters. Shore excursions are conducted via Zodiac boats, which allow us to reach remote coastlines, seabird cliffs, and landing sites not accessible by larger vessels. Boarding and exiting Zodiacs requires stepping carefully between the boat and the shore with assistance from the expedition team. Terrain in the Arctic can vary widely and may include snow patches, rocky beaches, volcanic sand, tundra vegetation, or uneven ground. Weather and sea conditions can influence landing locations and daily activities, so flexibility is an important part of the expedition experience.

Pace & Physical Requirements
Days during the expedition are moderately active and typically include one or two off-ship excursions when weather and sea conditions allow. These may include guided shore landings, Zodiac cruises for wildlife viewing, or opportunities to explore remote Arctic landscapes. There will also be several relaxing days at sea, including the crossing of the Greenland Sea, when guests can attend enrichment lectures, enjoy wildlife spotting from the deck, or simply relax and take in the scenery. While no specialized skills or extreme fitness are required, travelers should have good mobility, steady balance, and the ability to climb a few ship stairs and step in and out of Zodiac boats safely.

Weather & Environmental Conditions
Travel in the High Arctic means experiencing some of the most remote environments on the planet. Summer temperatures are generally cool, and conditions can include wind, light precipitation, and chilly sea air. Proper cold weather clothing and waterproof outer layers are essential for staying comfortable during Zodiac cruises and shore landings. Expedition schedules are guided by weather, sea ice, and wildlife activity, which means flexibility and a spirit of adventure are key parts of the experience.
