After arriving and checking into the hotel, the rest of the day is yours to enjoy. Today, we leave the mountains behind and journey to Boise, Idaho’s vibrant capital city. Along the way, we’ll stop at spectacular Shoshone Falls, often called the “Niagara of the West.” At 212 feet tall, these impressive falls are actually higher than Niagara Falls and offer incredible views of the Snake River Canyon. After arriving in Boise, we’ll discover the city’s unique cultural heritage with a visit to the Basque Museum and Cultural Center. Boise is home to one of the largest Basque communities in the United States, and we’ll learn about the traditions, history, and contributions of the immigrants who helped shape the region.

This tour combines scenic sightseeing, cultural experiences, and spectacular natural landscapes with a comfortable pace. While it does not require strenuous hiking or extended periods of standing, travelers should be prepared for multiple days of sightseeing, several longer coach transfers, and time spent at higher elevations.

Walking & Standing

Most sightseeing activities involve leisurely to moderate walking at attractions, scenic viewpoints, museums, historic districts, and cultural sites. Walking is generally at a relaxed pace with opportunities to rest throughout the day. Travelers should be comfortable walking short distances from motor coach drop-off points to attractions and standing for brief periods during guided visits. The jet boat excursion through Hells Canyon requires stepping on and off the vessel several times throughout the day. While no significant physical exertion is required, travelers should have sufficient mobility and balance to safely board and disembark the boat.

Terrain & Transportation

Terrain is generally easy and includes paved sidewalks, hotel walkways, viewing areas, and maintained park pathways. Some uneven surfaces may be encountered at natural attractions and scenic overlooks. This itinerary includes three longer travel days with approximately four hours or more of driving, including sightseeing stops, between Yellowstone and Sun Valley, Sun Valley and Boise, and Boise and Lewiston. Travelers should be comfortable spending extended periods seated on a motor coach. The Hells Canyon jet boat excursion travels at high speeds through occasionally rough water. The boats feature covered seating, back support, restroom facilities, and frequent stops throughout the journey.

Altitude

Two nights are spent inside Yellowstone National Park at elevations of approximately 8,000 feet, with additional time spent above 5,000 feet in Sun Valley. While sightseeing is not physically strenuous, some travelers may experience mild effects of altitude, including shortness of breath, fatigue, or headaches. Travelers with respiratory or cardiovascular concerns should consult their physician prior to travel.

Early Starts

To maximize wildlife viewing and sightseeing opportunities, departures before 9:00 a.m. are required on both mornings in Yellowstone National Park. An early departure is also necessary for the Hells Canyon jet boat excursion.

Please read this information carefully. There will be up to 24 Sisters on this tour, including your Sisterhood Travels Group Leader. Roommate matching is available.

Arrivals & Departures

Airfare is not included in your pricing. You will fly into Bozeman (BZN) and depart from Spokane (GEG).

You can arrive at any time on September 23, 2027, and depart at any time on October 2, 2027. Check-in time at your arrival hotel is at 3:00 pm.

All flight arrangements must be submitted to Sisterhood Travels on or before July 23, 2027. If you need help making flight arrangements, or to submit your independent flight arrangements, please click here for Airfare Information.

Arrival transfers are provided only on September 23, 2027, from the Bozeman airport to our hotel. Departure transfers are only provided on October 2, 2027, from our hotel to the Spokane airport. If you arrive or depart outside these days and times, or you’re needing transfers or hotels elsewhere, you are responsible for making your own arrangements at your own expense.

Entry Requirements

You are required to travel with an approved REAL ID on this tour. This can include a valid passport. If you fail to travel with compliant REAL ID, Sisterhood Travels will not be responsible for your inability to join the tour, and you will be responsible for any additional costs incurred.

Gratuities, Travel Insurance & Optional Expenses

Gratuities for your Tour Manager, local guides, and drivers are not included in your pricing. We will provide you with tipping guidelines for your trip.

Travel Insurance with Cancel for Any Reason coverage is strongly recommended and is not included in your pricing. We will send you a quote via email.

Any optional expenses or expenses related to anything not specifically listed in this itinerary are not included.

Please don’t schedule any optional excursions on your own for this trip as we cannot promise that you will arrive in time at any location to make your independent excursion. Sisterhood Travels won’t be liable for any expense you incur because of this.
