April 6, 2026

Today, discover Lima’s fascinating history during a colonial tour through the historic city center, a UNESCO World Heritage site. You’ll have a chance to admire the artwork at San Francisco Monastery and enter the catacombs. Next, we’ll view the elegant Cathedral at Plaza de Armas and visit the Casa de Aliaga, the former house of the conquistador Jeronimo de Aliaga y Ramirez, where the energy of colonial and republican Lima comes to life. This evening, we’ll join together for a Welcome Dinner featuring artfully crafted Peruvian dishes. (Breakfast and Dinner included)

This morning, we’ll board our group flight to Cuzco, in the heart of the Inca civilization. We’ll journey through the Andes to the majestic Sacred Valley of the Incas, the agricultural center of their grand empire. While en route to our hotel, we’ll explore different towns in the valley, each a representation of the region’s unique culture. After a short lesson on the local language, we’ll stop in Pisac village to browse the colorful handicraft market.  (Breakfast included)

This morning, we’ll visit the spectacular Ollantaytambo ruins, the only Incan settlement that has been continually inhabited since its inception. A uniquely terraced complex topped with carved stone panels, these ruins reflect ancient Incan architecture and heritage. Next, we’ll head to the Pablo Seminario Ceramic Studio where you’ll get first-hand knowledge of this internationally renowned artist’s techniques and designs, inspired by ancient Peruvian cultures. Later, we’ll dive deep into the cultures of modern Andean people as we mingle with the locals in a nearby community. Thanks to their effort and teamwork, tourism has become an additional income to agriculture which has positively impacted their quality of life. You’ll get a true taste of their daily life when participating in small group workshops that teach you traditional methods of growing, harvesting, and weaving. Celebrate their culture as we learn their dances and listen to their musical instruments before enjoying a home-hosted farm-to-table lunch featuring local specialties. (Breakfast and Lunch included)

Climb aboard our train to Machu Picchu for breathtaking views through panoramic windows as we ride through the Andes to the “Lost City of the Incas.” Hidden by mountains and semi-tropical jungle, Machu Picchu is considered the most spectacular sight in South America. We’ll spend the afternoon with our private guide uncovering the mysteries of these majestic ruins. Tonight, we’ll enjoy an exclusive culinary demonstration and learn how to craft the perfect ceviche and pisco sour before our dinner featuring an authentic Peruvian menu. We’ll ascend to Machu Picchu in the early morning hours, being among the first to enter the sanctuary just as the sun begins to rise over the high mountains that surround it. Spend some time exploring the grounds at your leisure or merely pick a spot to sit and enjoy the morning serenity of this magical place. Later, we’ll return to the Sacred Valley by train, where you and your Sisters can take some time to explore Cuzco at your own pace. (Breakfast included)

April 11, 2026

We’ll start our morning on a tour of Cuzco, visiting the San Pedro Market, the Koricancha temple, the central Plaza de Armas, and the Cuzco Cathedral. Later, it’s your choice! Travel above the city to discover the important sacred Incan ruins of Sacsayhuaman Fortress OR embark on a walking tour of San Blas, the traditional old quarter of Cuzco, lined with restaurants and artisan shops. The rest of the afternoon is yours to enjoy with your Sisters. Tonight, we’ll dine at a local restaurant featuring the local flavors of Cuzco. (Breakfast and Dinner included)

This morning, we’ll fly together on our group flight to Puno, hugging the shores of Lake Titicaca. Known as the birthplace of the Inca Empire, ancient legends say that life began here. We’ll have time to meet the locals and discover the history of this region as we explore the village center before checking into our lakeside hotel. Dine at your leisure with your Sisters this evening. (Breakfast included)

The Titicaca area, steeped in tradition and folklore, is the center of Incan legends. We’ll enjoy a morning cruise to the floating islands of the Uros people of Lake Titicaca; experience walking on the island’s spongy surface made from compacted beds of tortora reeds and meet the locals, learning about their history and lifestyle. Later, we’ll cruise to a local rustic village for a home-hosted meal and swap stories with Peruvian families before visiting the mystical Chullpas de Sillustani, an archaeological area boasting 13th-century funerary monuments. (Breakfast and Lunch included)

As our tour comes to an end, spend the morning together relaxing on the shores of Lake Titicaca before we fly back to Lima on our group flight. Upon arrival, we’ll head to the Larco Museum, a former mansion built on the site of a pre-Columbian temple. The museum offers a collection of over 3,000 years of ceramic, textile, and precious metal artifacts. After this incredible trip through history, we’ll celebrate our adventure together with a Farewell Dinner on the grounds of the museum before departing for the Lima airport and our flights home. (Breakfast and Dinner included)

PLEASE READ THIS INFORMATION CAREFULLY

  • There will be a maximum of 17 Sisters including your Sisterhood Travels Group Leader. Roommate matching is available.
  • International airfare is not included in your pricing. You will fly roundtrip Lima, Peru (LIM)
  • You can arrive at any time on April 4, 2026. You may depart after 9:00 pm on April 14, 2026.
  • Check-in time at our arrival hotel is at 3:00 pm.
  • All international flight arrangements must be submitted to Sisterhood Travels on or before December 5, 2025. If you need help making flight arrangements, or to submit your independent flight arrangements, please click here for Airfare Information.
  • Group flights are included from Lima to Cuzco, Cuzco to Puno, and Puno to Lima. All flights are in economy class and there is no opportunity for upgrades. Seating assignments and flight times will be provided to you once on the tour.
  • Arrival transfers are provided only on April 4, 2026, from the Lima airport to our hotel. Departure transfers are only provided on April 14, 2026, to the Lima airport. If you arrive or depart outside these days and times, or you’re needing transfers or hotels elsewhere, you are responsible for making your own arrangements at your own expense.
  • Complete valid passport information is required on or before December 5, 2025, without exception in order to book your train tickets to Machu Picchu. If your passport information is incomplete or inaccurate, there is a strong possibility that we will be unable to confirm you. You will be subject to any additional charges incurred from failing to provide passport information within the required deadline.
  • Hotels outside of Lima are generally small with one or two levels without elevators. This may require you to climb 10-15 steps to get to/from your room.
  • During this tour, you will spend seven days at altitudes over 9,000 ft with the highest altitudes in Puno at over 12,000 feet. If you have any cardiac health issues, we strongly recommend that you discuss this trip with your physician before making your booking.
  • There are very strict guidelines about the size of backpacks you can bring into Machu Picchu. We will provide this exact information to you in your Trip Plans App under the “Important Information Section”.
  • Please don’t schedule any optional excursions on your own for this trip, as we cannot promise that you will arrive in time at any location to make your independent excursion. Sisterhood Travels won’t be liable for any expense you incur because of this.
  • Individual gratuities for your Tour Director, local guides, and drivers are not included in your pricing. We will provide you with tipping guidelines for your trip
  • Travel Insurance is highly recommended and is not included in your pricing. We will send you a quote via email.
  • We cannot accommodate wheelchairs or assistive mobility devices on this trip.
  • There are no refunds for unused portions of this tour.
  • Dates and times of itinerary as well as hotels listed are subject to change without notice due to operational, weather, or logistical reasons.
  • Any optional expenses or expenses related to anything not specifically listed in this itinerary are not included.

This is a consistently robust itinerary that is likely to be filled with a combination of long, active days, several early hotel departures and some long journeys by coach. There may be limited time for rest and rejuvenation as you explore these amazing destinations. There may be multiple flights and travel by non-traditional means such as safari vehicles, rickshaws/pedicabs, etc. Guests should have reasonable health and mobility and be capable of walking 1-2 miles over time over potentially difficult terrain which may include hills. Guests should be comfortable with standing for longer periods of time with no difficulty.
