I just returned from our trip to Mongolia and it was truly a life changing experience.  Sisterhood Travel really went all out on this trip.  We had first class accommodations at every stop (even in the middle of the Gobi desert!), a wide variety of experiences including riding camels, hiking, exploring cliffs and sand dunes, and attending a performance of Mongolian throat singers.  We even got to try our hands at archery and felt art.  We had the unique opportunity of meeting with a traditional shaman. And the main highlight of the trip was attending the two-day Golden Eagle Festival.  What really set this trip apart (and where Sisterhood really excels) were the many opportunities we had to meet with local families.  We were invited into their homes and shared their food while we learned about their culture and life style.  No other tours do as good a job.  The group was also kept small for logistical reasons but that helped to foster a true sense of sisterhood among the women.  In addition to the local guide, we also had a sisterhood representative on the trip who made sure we always had everything we needed.  I highly recommend this group.

Just returning from Tanzania and Uganda. What a wonderful experience. Trip full of adventure and meeting great new friends from all over our country. Our group leader, Ellen, was absolutely the best. In tune with each of us and built a wonderful camaraderie for the group. She even reworked our schedule a bit to make the transportation and driving work better between locations.
Up close experience with almost every animal of Africa. Never disappointed every time we went out. My love of the puma was rewarded with many great photos. The cultural outings were heartwarming and much enjoyed as well. Gorilla treks were challenging but worth every moment.
Accommodations were really cool and unique. Mobil camp in Serengeti reserve was my favorite with bucket showers and a group of bull elephants that came right into camp at dinner. Staff was excellent at safety protocols for all.
Finally Bwindi lodge in Uganda was first class after a bit of glamping. These folks were top of their game. Two treks for gorillas provided completely different experiences. Waterfall trek was challenging but absolutely beautiful. Women’s center is a must. They made a dress for me from scratch which I wore to dinner for our last dinner.

The Tanzanian Safari and Gorilla Trek Trip was a trip of a lifetime! It could not have gone better and exceeded all expectations. A huge part of that success was the excellent leadership of this trip,  Ellen Ryan! She dealt with any mishaps, delays with logic, speed and kindness. Thank you! I recently returned from a two week Iceland Ring Road trip with Sisterhood Travels in September. This was my first time traveling with ST and isn't my last as I've already booked another trip.

This group consisted of 12 women from all over the US, ages approx +/- 55-65. Didn't matter if you were married, divorced, widowed or single, an experienced traveler or a first-timer, we were well taken care of by our two guides (ST Group Leader, Sandy, and a Tour Director, Tanja) and by eachother. Every step of the trip was well planned, organized and communicated daily via WhatsApp. The best parts: there was always someone to sit with at meals, share an experience, talk about life outside of traveling, and someone to watch your bags when you ran to the bathroom.

Whether we shared rooms or had a private room, we could choose to spend free time alone or with others.

The Iceland Ring Road trip took us counter clockwise around the island and Snaefellsnes Penincula and our driver gave us first hand knowledge and experiences of living in Iceland. Each night was spent in a new hotel (expect for one where we spent two nights, allowing time for laundry). Some of our expereinces incuded seeing glaciers up close via a ferry. We saw many waterfalls, whales and volcanoes (learned about the 2023 erruption), witnessed sheep crossing the road, and Iceland horses. We enjoyed the Jardbodin and Blue Lagoon hot springs, visited black sand beaches, active geothermal areas, and Kirkjufell Mountain. We enjoyed shopping and eating (including delicious hotdogs made of lamb and pork, and local seafood) and enjoyed coffee shops in fishing villages. We also hiked up waterfalls and saw the aurua borealis. We also visited a few local museums and took a ferry to Vigur Island, where there is a privately owned historic 19th century home and farming/wildlife sanctuary, and home to over 100K puffins (which had emigrated prior to our arrival) and where they harvest Eider Down. Its also home to Europe's smallest Post Office.

Although there were a couple unexpected changes to the itinerary due to road construction, weather or timing, the tour guide and driver used these times as opportunities to find other ways to show us the beatutiful island of Iceland.

Sisterhood Travels has figured out how to provide women with shared unique experiences that often fill up long before departure dates. In Iceland, our days were filled, the meals were delicious, the hotels were comfortable, the expereinces were unique and fun, and connections made with other women have filled our hearts and minds with memories.

This was my first trip with the Sisterhood and my first solo trip.  I can't say enough wonderful things about the trip and especially my group leaders, Sondra and Carrie.  They were fantastic!! I have been on two Sisterhood tours and highly recommend them.  I would not have gone to Europe or Alaska on my own and I would not have found a friend who was interested in travelling at the same time I wanted to go.  They offer tours to literally everywhere in the world.  The tours visit some special places that the average tourist would not see and they do provide plenty of free time.  Tours are not all inclusive and you will need to pay for some meals and special tours or events you would like to see.  I prefer a single room, but most of the women who travelled with me said the roommate matching had worked out.
