INDIA WITH THE HOLI FESTIVAL

March 19 – April 2, 2027

An unforgettable women-only journey through color, culture, and connection

There are trips you take to check something off your bucket list, and then there are journeys like this: a full-sensory, heart-opening experience that will move you, challenge you, and stay with you long after you return home. This is an experiential, women-only adventure crafted for curious, bold, and soulful travelers, especially those traveling solo, who are ready to discover India’s depth, joy, and spirit alongside an intimate group of like-minded women.

From the dazzling chaos of Old Delhi to the sacred stillness of Varanasi, this two-week journey is packed with moments that will stir your soul: sailing at sunrise on the Ganges River, witnessing the Ganga Aarti ceremony by candlelight, and exploring sacred temples, royal palaces, and centuries-old stepwells. You’ll celebrate Holi (the Festival of Colors) in an unforgettable celebration, dance under clouds of vibrant powder, and connect through joy and laughter. And when we venture into Ranthambore National Park, you’ll feel your heart race as we track the elusive Bengal tiger in its natural habitat.

Throughout this journey, you’ll be deeply inspired by the women of India, from the eco-rickshaw drivers of Jaipur to the artisans of Dastkar Ranthambore, and the courageous women behind Sheroes’ Hangout Café in Agra. These exclusive Women Supporting Women experiences are at the core of what makes this trip so powerful. We travel not only to see the world, but to uplift the women who live in it.

And of course, we’ll witness the Taj Mahal both at sunrise and sunset, a breathtaking tribute to love that reflects the emotional depth of this entire journey. With just 16 women, a dedicated Sisterhood Group Leader, and every detail handled for you, this trip offers a perfect balance of luxury, adventure, personal growth, and meaningful connection.

Activity Level 4

Activity Level:

Busy

This extraordinary journey through India is designed for women who are comfortable with active days, sensory immersion, and the joyful chaos that makes India unforgettable. From the lively streets of Delhi and the rose-hued palaces of Jaipur to tiger safaris in Ranthambore and the spiritual banks of the Ganges in Varanasi, this itinerary is a vibrant mix of history, color, culture, and connection. You’ll experience the exuberance of Holi Festival, explore ancient temples, take open-air rides through bustling markets, and witness sunrise over the Taj Mahal — moments that are as moving as they are memorable. This is India at its most inspiring, and it rewards open hearts and a spirit of adventure.

Walking & Standing

This journey involves moderate to extensive walking on most days. You’ll navigate uneven terrain, cobblestone paths, stairs without railings, and occasionally dusty or unpaved areas. Visits to historic monuments, forts, and temples often require climbing steps or walking longer distances to access the sites. Guests should be comfortable standing for periods of 30–60 minutes during guided tours, walking up to 2–3 miles on some days, and getting in and out of various vehicles including rickshaws, jeeps, canters (open safari trucks), tuk tuks, and small boats.

Crowds, Sensory Conditions & Cultural Immersion

India is an exhilarating destination filled with contrasts, sounds, and movement. Major cities such as Delhi, Jaipur, Agra, and Varanasi can be crowded, especially around markets, temples, and monuments. During the Holi Festival, expect large, festive gatherings, bright colored powders, loud music, and joyful energy. It’s a beautiful celebration, but participants should be comfortable in lively, high-energy environments. Traffic congestion, honking, and bustling street life are part of the authentic Indian experience — sometimes unpredictable, always unforgettable.

Terrain, Transport & Climate

You’ll travel by a mix of private motorcoach, open safari vehicle, train, rickshaw, jeep, and domestic flights, all of which add to the adventure. Some days include long travel segments (up to 6–7 hours by road) with rest stops and scenic breaks. Air conditioning is available on all transport and in hotels, but you’ll still experience heat and sun during outdoor activities. Hydration, sun protection, and lightweight, breathable clothing are essential.

Pacing & Accommodations

This is a multi-destination itinerary with several internal transfers, yet it’s thoughtfully paced with two- and three-night stays in key destinations to allow for rest and reflection. Days generally begin early (particularly for sunrise experiences and safaris) and include both guided sightseeing and free time. Accommodations are upscale 4- and 5-star hotels and heritage properties selected for comfort, safety, and atmosphere. Meals are a highlight of this journey, with a mix of hotel dining, local restaurants, and home-hosted experiences.
