Welcome to New Mexico! This evening, we’ll meet our Tour Director at 5pm for a brief orientation and introductions to each other. Then, we’ll enjoy a Welcome Dinner to kick-off our Hot Air Balloon Festival and New Mexico adventure! (Dinner included)

October 5, 2024

Our adventure begins by spending the day enjoying the opening day festivities at the Albuquerque International Balloon Fiesta. Our Gondola Club package gives us access to prime seating for the Mass Ascension balloon launch! After taking in the amazing hot air balloon scenery, you’ll have plenty of free time to explore the festival grounds, food vendors and join in celebrations. (Dinner)

October 6, 2024

Today, we’ll explore Albuquerque by starting our day in Old Town for a taste of history and culture. First, our Tour Director will guide us on a walking tour of the city’s public art and murals. Then, we’ll visit the Pueblo Cultural Center to learn about Pueblo culture from ancient times to the present. Tonight, we’ll enjoy dinner together at a restaurant featuring local cuisine. (Dinner)

October 7, 2024

This morning, we’ll begin our journey to Santa Fe, a city known for its art, culture, and history. We’ll spend the day by visiting the Georgia O’Keefe Museum to see the works of the famous artist. Later, we’ll take a guided walking tour of Santa Fe’s Historic Downtown. This evening, we’ll dine together with our Sisters at a local restaurant. (Dinner)

October 8, 2024

We’re going to make an early start as we spend our morning at the Santa Fe Railyard Park, a popular gathering place for locals and visitors alike! Then, we’ll enjoy the scenic drive to Chimayo, a town known for its traditional weavings and the Santuario de Chimayo, a holy site and pilgrimage destination. During our visit, we’ll experience a local weaving demonstration. Later, we’ll gather together for another delicious group dinner.  (Breakfast and Dinner)

October 9, 2024

Today, we’re on to our next stop, the charming town of Taos! We’ll visit Taos Pueblo for a guided tour of this UNESCO World Heritage Site and the only living Native American Community designated as such as well as a National Historic Landmark. Afterwards, we’ll have some time to explore the art galleries and shops of the historic Tao Plaza. Tonight, we have a fantastic Sisterhood dinner arranged at a local restaurant. October 10, 2024

Today, is a free day just for you and your Sisters! Enjoy some time to relax, shop, or enjoy a nice lunch in town. Tomorrows drive is quite long, so it’s a great opportunity to pamper yourself at the resort and have some downtime. We’ll meet tonight for a wonderful group dinner and share our memories from the day. (Dinner)

Today, we have a long drive (approximately 6 hours) through diverse scenery as we make our way to the southern portion of New Mexico, to the town of Carlsbad. Along the way, we’ll make a stop in the quirky town of Roswell to stretch our legs. (Dinner)

October 12, 2024

Today, we’ll explore a stunning underground world of stalactites and stalagmites at Carlsbad Caverns National Park. We can take a self-guided tour of the caverns, including the Big Room, a massive underground chamber that is 4,000 feet long and 255 feet high. Later, we’ll begin our journey back to Albuquerque, either stopping off for dinner along the way, or upon our arrival, depending on our timing. (Dinner)

October 13, 2024

Welcome back to Albuquerque and more Hot Air Balloon festivities. Enjoy the first part of your day together with your Sisters exploring the city as you wish. Later on, we’ll meet up to head back to the festival for the closing ceremonies in the Gondola Club where we can watch the balloons light up the night sky during the Evening Glow Event. We’ll also have time to reflect on the past 10 amazing days in New Mexico with each other. (Dinner)

October 14, 2024

Sadly, our time in New Mexico has come to an end. We’ll be transported back to the airport to being our journeys home, but not without incredible memories of New Mexico and the connections we’ve made with each other.

  • There will be a maximum of 12 Sisters on this tour, including your Sisterhood Travels Group Leader
  • Airfare is not included in your pricing
  • You will fly roundtrip into/out of Albuquerque (ABQ)
  • You should arrive on October 4, 2024, no later than 3:00 pm, and can depart at any time on October 14, 2024.
  • Check-in time at your arrival hotel is at 3:00 pm.
  • All flight arrangements must be submitted to Sisterhood Travels on or before July 1, 2024. If you need help making flight arrangements, or to submit your independent flight arrangements, please click here for Airfare Information.
  • Arrival transfers are provided only on October 4th from the Albuquerque airport to our Hotel Chaco. Departure transfers are only provided on October 14th from Hotel Chaco to the Albuquerque airport. If you arrive or depart outside these days and/or you’re needing transfers or hotels elsewhere, you are responsible for making your own arrangements at your own expense.
  • Transportation throughout the tour will be provided in a private, 13-passenger sprinter van. Frequent restroom stops will be made as needed.
  • Please don’t schedule any optional excursions on your own for this trip, as we cannot promise that you will arrive in time at any location to make your independent excursion. Sisterhood Travels won’t be liable for any expense you incur because of this.
  • Individual gratuities for your Tour Director and coach driver are not included in your pricing. We will provide you with tipping guidelines for your trip.
  • Optional Travel Insurance is not included in your pricing. We will send you a quote via email.
  • We cannot accommodate wheelchairs or assistive mobility devices on this trip.
  • There are no refunds for unused portions of this tour.

This is a moderately paced itinerary that involves some longer days and more activities. Expect some early hotel departures, and limited time for day time rest and rejuvenation as the itineraries are designed to ensure that you see as much as possible in these wonderful destinations. This may include longer coach journeys and guests should be able to join a walking tour lasting 1-2 hours with stops possibly over uneven terrain. Guests should have reasonable health and mobility and be comfortable with standing for longer periods of time with no difficulty.
