Our journey begins in Rhode Island, a gem tucked away in the heart of New England. Our visits to Providence and Newport set the stage for our week-long journey with its unique blend of urban charm and quaint, coastal allure. Then, it’s off to the sun-kissed shores of Cape Cod, where our luxurious beachfront resort awaits. Picture yourself lounging on golden sands, sipping a cool drink, and sharing stories with new friends. Our resort is a haven for relaxation, offering everything from spa treatments to breathtaking ocean views.

But there’s more! We’ll sail to the storybook islands of Nantucket and Martha’s Vineyard. Welcome to Rhode Island! You’ll meet your driver and be transported to our hotel. Today is yours to settle and relax. Perhaps this evening, you’ll join your Sisters for an informal get-together in the hotel. No meals are included today.

July 27, 2024

This morning, it’s your choice! Enjoy a panoramic city tour with your Tour Director on your coach and see highlights including the Brown University Campus and Waterplace Park -OR- join a local guide on foot and get a closer look at some downtown attractions like the Rhode Island State House and the historic Providence City Hall. After, reconnect with your Sisters and enjoy a self-guided visit to the Rhode Island School of Design Museum, where you can find works of art ranging from ancient Egyptian artifacts to modern and contemporary paintings. Tonight, we’ll celebrate the beginning of our journey after spending a day in the city known in New England as the Creative Capital. (Breakfast and Dinner)

This morning, we’ll head to Newport, a colonial port city that later turned into a summer home to America’s wealthiest industrialists. On your way, look to the calm water and see why the city has earned the moniker of the “Sailing Capital of the World” and was home to the America’s Cup sailing competition for more than 50 years. In Newport, we’ll travel along Bellevue Avenue. Lined with extraordinary 19th-century summer “cottages,” this road is home to 7 mansions designated National Historic Landmarks. These extravagant homes were used by affluent families like the Astors and Morgans, for fewer than two months each year. Step back in time and get a taste of the Gilded Age at The Breakers, the most opulent of the Newport Mansions and 70-room summer getaway of the Vanderbilt family. (Breakfast)

This morning, we’ll venture to the home of the first permanent colonial settlement in the country: Plymouth. Here, we’ll board a boat and cruise Plymouth Harbor. Our captain will share the importance of lobstering to New England culture and demonstrate how lobsters are pulled from the water. After returning to land, we’ll stop in the town of Plymouth to see where the Pilgrims disembarked the Mayflower in 1620: Plymouth Rock. Later, we’ll arrive at our beachfront hotel for a 4- night stay on the Cape.  (Breakfast)

Today, catch a glimpse of the Camelot era in Hyannis Port, home of the Kennedy compound, and visit the poignant Kennedy Memorial. Next, we’ll set off via ferry to explore the idyllic island of Nantucket. From its cobblestone Main Street to its beaches and lighthouses, this place lives up to its reputation. During time at leisure with your Sisters, meander the waterfront where sailboats and yachts sway in the harbor or shop for a famous Nantucket basket. Next, we’ll head to the Nantucket Whaling Museum and learn about this island’s history as the former whaling capital of the world. Peruse exhibits about the danger of this industry in the 18th century and even see the skeleton of a 46-foot-long whale. Tonight, we’ll enjoy dinner at a popular local restaurant. Today, we want you to take in Cape Cod your way so it’s your choice! Take advantage of the amenities at your waterfront hotel, perhaps sitting by the pool or visiting the private beach on the resort’s property -OR- join your Tour Director for a trip to Chatham, a town on the tip of Cape Cod, including some free time, stops at a local lighthouse and windmill, and a visit to the Atwood Museum – a museum that covers the town’s rich history. No matter which choice you choose, your evening is at leisure with your Sisters. (Breakfast)

August 1, 2024

This morning, a ferry ride transports us to beautiful Martha’s Vineyard. Known for visits by presidents and royalty, this summer home of many artists, writers and celebrities is full of surprises. You’ll see all the highlights of “the Vineyard” (as the locals call it), including quaint gingerbread-styled cottages and a once-famous whaling port resplendent with sea captains’ homes and widows’ walks. Later, we’ll depart the island and cruise back to Cape Cod. Tonight, you’re in for a treat as we enjoy a Farewell Dinner and traditional New England experience as we indulge in a lobster feast. (Breakfast and Dinner)

  • There will be a maximum of 44 Sisters on this tour, including your Sisterhood Travels Group Leader
  • Airfare is not included in your pricing.
  • You will fly into Providence, Rhode Island (PVD) and depart from Boston (BOS).
  • You can arrive at any time on July 26, 2024, and depart at 12 pm or later on August 2, 2024.
  • Check-in time at your arrival hotel is at 3:00 pm.
  • All flight arrangements must be submitted to Sisterhood Travels on or before March 26, 2024. If you need help making flight arrangements, or to submit your independent flight arrangements, please click here for Airfare Information.
  • Arrival transfers are provided only on July 26th from the Providence airport to our hotel. Departure transfers are only provided on August 2nd from our hotel to the Boston airport. If you arrive or depart outside these days and/or you’re needing transfers or hotels elsewhere, you are responsible for making your own arrangements at your own expense.
  • Please don’t schedule any optional excursions on your own for this trip, as we cannot promise that you will arrive in time at any location to make your independent excursion. Sisterhood Travels won’t be liable for any expense you incur because of this.
  • Individual gratuities for your Tour Director and coach driver are not included in your pricing. We will provide you with tipping guidelines for your trip.
  • Optional Travel Insurance is not included in your pricing. We will send you a quote via email.
  • We cannot accommodate wheelchairs or assistive mobility devices on this trip.
  • There are no refunds for unused portions of this tour.
