Welcome to Zagreb! After you pass through immigration and customs, your driver will meet you in the Arrivals Hall to transport you on a 2-hour scenic drive to our hotel in Ljubljana, Slovenia. Take some time to relax and freshen up before meeting your Group Leader and Sisters for an informal meet and greet this evening. (No meals are included today)

This morning, a local guide will take us on a journey through the charming city of Ljubljana. Set along the tranquil Ljubljanica River, the city boasts lush green parks, charming bridges, bustling sidewalk cafés, and a vibrant central market. We’ll explore key landmarks such as Prešeren Square, the striking City Hall, Ljubljana University, and several of the city’s iconic bridges, including the famous Dragon Bridge, where the dragon—Ljubljana’s proud symbol of strength and courage—stands tall. Afterward, take some free time to enjoy lunch with your Sisters in this lively city.

In the early afternoon, we’ll head toward the breathtaking Lake Bled, nestled in the foothills of the Julian Alps, where we’ll visit the heart of Lake Bled, Bled Island, by gliding across the water in a traditional wooden boat. As we continue exploring this picture-perfect area, don’t miss our chance to indulge in Bled’s famous cream cake before we return to Ljubljana. (Breakfast included)

This morning, we leave Ljubljana behind as we venture further into Slovenia. Our first stop is Novo Mesto, a charming small town nestled along the Krka River and surrounded by rolling hills. We’ll experience the town from a fresh perspective with a peaceful boat ride along the famous river bend. Afterwards, we’ll join a local guide for a walking tour to explore more of Novo Mesto’s highlights. Enjoy some free time to explore and have lunch at your own pace with your Sisters. Later, we’ll continue our journey to Croatia, where we’ll arrive at the beautiful seaside town of Opatija, often referred to as “Croatia’s Riviera.” Once a summer escape for Roman emperors and Habsburg royalty, this elegant town invites us to discover its charm on a short walking tour. The rest of the evening is yours to spend with your Sisters as you wish. (Breakfast included)

Next, we’ll continue our journey to a postcard-worthy hilltop town that perfectly captures the essence of Istria. Leaving behind the forested beauty of Plitvice Lakes, we’ll journey through the Croatian countryside and stop at a quaint traditional village. Croatia is renowned for its artisanal prosciutto, and during our visit to a family-owned estate, you’ll get to see how some of the finest is made. After a brief tour, we’ll enjoy a light lunch together featuring homemade local specialties. Next, we’ll continue on to the coastal city of Split, a treasure trove of Roman ruins and natural beauty. This afternoon, embark on a walking tour that highlights the magnificent Diocletian’s Palace (a UNESCO World Heritage site), one of the most important remnants of the late Roman era, built by Emperor Diocletian when he retired in the early 4th century. Upon arrival, you’ll be warmly greeted by hosts dressed in traditional Croatian attire, offering you a choice of homemade drinks, from local brandy to flavorful liqueurs. Enjoy the sweet pairing of dried figs and candied almonds as you explore the Old Mill, learning about the ancient craft of flour production and seeing how this historical site continues to operate today. Next, we’ll take a scenic drive to the peaceful village of Zasolje, where we’ll visit a family estate to dive into the world of olive oil production. This morning, we leave Dubrovnik and head to the picturesque coastal town of Cavtat. After a brief tour showcasing the town’s highlights, take some time with your Sisters to relax, grab a coffee, or enjoy lunch at one of its charming seaside cafés. Later, we’ll make our way to the airport for our short group flight to Zagreb, Croatia’s vibrant capital. In the late afternoon, we’ll enjoy a guided tour that highlights the best of Zagreb, a city that has stood at the crossroads of Eastern and Central Europe for over a millennium. Don’t miss the chance to experience the world’s shortest funicular ride, taking you to the enchanting upper town. (Breakfast included)

Leave Zagreb behind this morning as we journey into the scenic Croatian countryside of Zagorje, known for its rolling green hills, vineyards, and forests. Our first stop is the historic village of Kumrovec, the birthplace of Josip Broz Tito, the lifelong president of the former Yugoslavia. A visit to the ethno village here feels like stepping back in time, as you wander through charming old houses in the beautifully preserved “Old Village.” Next, we’ll head to the delightful town of Samobor, a food lover’s paradise. After a brief tour, we’ll enjoy a delicious lunch at a local restaurant, finishing with a taste of the famous Samoborske-Kremsnite, a traditional Croatian custard cream cake. You’ll also have the chance to sample Bermet, a unique sweet and bitter wine made from a centuries-old secret recipe—one of Croatia’s most authentic drinks. This evening, we’ll gather for a Farewell Dinner in a local restaurant, celebrating the end of our unforgettable adventure together. (Breakfast, Lunch, and Dinner included)

PLEASE READ THIS INFORMATION CAREFULLY

  • There will be a maximum of 25 Sisters including your Sisterhood Travels Group Leader. Roommate matching is available.
  • International airfare is not included in your pricing. You will fly roundtrip Zagreb (ZAG)
  • You can arrive at any time on May 14, 2026. You can depart at any time on May 27, 2026.
  • Check-in time at our arrival hotel is at 3:00 pm.
  • All international flight arrangements must be submitted to Sisterhood Travels on or before January 14, 2026. If you need help making flight arrangements, or to submit your independent flight arrangements, please click here for Airfare Information.
  • Arrival transfers are provided only on May 14, 2026, from the Zagreb airport to our hotel in Slovenia (an approximate 2-hour ride). Departure transfers are only provided on May 27, 2026, to the Zagreb airport. If you arrive or depart outside these days and times, or you’re needing transfers or hotels elsewhere, you are responsible for making your own arrangements at your own expense.
  • Our group flight from Dubrovnik to Zagreb is approximately 55 minutes and is in economy class with no opportunity for upgrades. You will receive pertinent flight detail information closer to our departure.
  • Complete valid passport information is required on or before September 15, 2025, in order to secure your seat for our group flight. Your passport must be valid for at least 6 months beyond the dates of your travel.
  • This trip requires that you have the ability to walk or stand for up to 2 hours at a time and keep pace with the group. The visit to Plitvice Lakes requires you to climb more than 100 steps across time. The route we will be taking involves a minimum of two hours over about 1.8 miles without the assistance of handrails. While in Dubrovnik, our walking tour is mainly flat. Walking the Dubrovnik city walls does involve climbing some sets of stairs.
  • Please don’t schedule any optional excursions on your own for this trip, as we cannot promise that you will arrive in time at any location to make your independent excursion. Sisterhood Travels won’t be liable for any expense you incur because of this.
  • Individual gratuities for your Tour Director, local guides, and drivers are not included in your pricing. We will provide you with tipping guidelines for your trip.
  • Travel Insurance is strongly recommended and is not included in your pricing. We will send you a quote via email.
  • We cannot accommodate wheelchairs or assistive mobility devices on this trip.
  • There are no refunds for unused portions of this tour.
  • Dates and times of itinerary as well as hotels listed are subject to change without notice due to operational, weather, or logistical reasons.

This is a consistently robust itinerary that is likely to be filled with a combination of long, active days, several early hotel departures and some long journeys by coach. There may be limited time for rest and rejuvenation as you explore these amazing destinations. There may be multiple flights and travel by non-traditional means such as safari vehicles, rickshaws/pedicabs, etc. Guests should have reasonable health and mobility and be capable of walking 1-2 miles over time over potentially difficult terrain which may include hills. Guests should be comfortable with standing for longer periods of time with no difficulty.
