Welcome to England! Today, you’ll be transferred from London Heathrow Airport to your castle hotel in Berkshire for a free afternoon and evening to rest, relax and recalibrate from your flights. We will meet this evening informally for a quick drink and bite if you feel up to it. Hotel: MGallery Castle Hotel
Today, enjoy your included breakfast with your new Sisters. We will meet our guide at 2:00 PM before venturing out to see the splendors of Windsor Castle, a residence of the Queen, and the oldest and largest inhabited castle in the world. We’ll enjoy a welcome drink together, and then, we’ll dine and explore this intriguing medieval town as we wish this evening. (B) Hotel: MGallery Castle Hotel
This morning, after breakfast, we’ll travel to Blenheim Palace, the magnificent country house once home to Winston Churchill and often seen as the setting for popular TV shows and movies – we’ll be touring the house and exploring the gardens. Then, we’ll set off on a drive through the rolling hills of the quintessentially English Cotswolds with its charming villages and colorful gardens. Later on, we’ll arrive in Bath, a striking city of honey-colored Georgian buildings with an ancient heritage. We’ll take a walking tour of the city before visiting the famed Roman Baths. Today, we’ll visit prehistoric Stonehenge and marvel at the vast monoliths mysteriously erected 5,000 years ago. Then, we’ll head to the medieval city of Salisbury, with free time for lunch and sightseeing. Along with charming local shops, Salisbury boasts a splendid 13th-century cathedral housing the world’s oldest working clock. Later, we’ll head back to Bath, where your evening is free to explore! Today, we’ll visit Winchester, which in medieval times, was the most important city in England. Some believe this is where the legendary King Arthur had his Round Table. Enjoy some free time to explore. Next, we’ll delve into nautical life in Portsmouth, where we’ll visit the historic dockyards. Tonight, we’ll enjoy dinner together at our hotel in the countryside. Today, we’re off to visit Birling Gap for a gentle cliff walk. Afterwards, we’re off to head to Royal Tunbridge Wells, a delightful old spa town, for some free time to discover its exquisite Georgian and Victorian architecture and charming shops and pubs. Later, we’ll take a stroll to explore Sissinghurst Castle Garden, one of the finest gardens in England. This evening, we’ll enjoy dinner together at our hotel. (B, D) Hotel: Chilston Park Hotel
Journey to romantic Leeds Castle in Kent, once called “the loveliest castle in the world”. We’ll tour this storybook structure, complete with a moat, and discover its colorful gardens. After, we’ll proceed to the beautiful city of Canterbury where we’ll have time to explore its medieval center before visiting its imposing cathedral and hearing some of its enthralling tales. Then, we head to London where we’ll dine together as a group. (B, D) Hotel: Hilton London Kensington
This morning, we’ll depart London and head to the university city of Cambridge. We’ll be visiting the Cambridge American Cemetery, memorializing thousands of World War II soldiers, including bandleader Glenn Miller and Joseph Kennedy, JFK’s brother. We’ll finish the day’s activities by punting down the River Cam, taking in the sights of this university city on a traditional flat-bottomed boat. Today, we’ll head to Lincoln, with its towering cathedral and castle overlooking the city. We’ll stop in a pub for a traditional Sunday roast lunch. Afterwords, we’ll arrive in York, an ancient city of narrow cobbled streets, charming tearooms, quaint old pubs, and intriguing medieval churches. Our tour guide will bring us on a walking tour and then we can enjoy the rest of the day free for independent exploring and dining. (B, L) Hotel: Malmaison York
We’re going to journey back in time today on a vintage train ride: we’ll leave from the Goathland Station that portrayed Hogsmeade Station in the first “Harry Potter” film to the old whaling town of Whitby, the setting for Bram Stoker’s “Dracula”. Afterward, we’ll tour Whitby’s pretty harbor and cobbled streets with our tour director and then enjoy free time for lunch. Last, we’ll head back to York and visit York Minster, a Gothic cathedral resplendent with medieval stained glass and dine together as a group. (B,D) Hotel: Malmaison York
This morning, we’ll take a scenic drive through the lush green splendor of the Yorkshire Dales, pausing in the romantic market town of Richmond. Later, we’ll head to Keswick, in the famously beautiful Lake District, where we’ll have some free time for lunch. This afternoon, we’ll visit the Lakes Distillery, dating back to the Victorian era, and enjoy a tour with a tasting. For dinner tonight, we’ll dine together. (B, D) Hotel: Low Wood Bay Resort & Spa
Today, we’ll take a short scenic cruise on England’s largest lake, Windermere, seeing mountain vistas, wooded isles, and lakeside villages. Then, we’ll be heading to Liverpool, the birthplace of the Beatles. We’ll tour this fun, friendly city on foot with our tour guide – and then we’ll be free to explore independently for the rest of the day. You might want to check out the many attractions around the Albert Dock, including the Beatles Story, the Tate Liverpool, and the Merseyside Maritime Museum. (B) Hotel: Malmaison Liverpool
This morning, we’ll head to Stratford-upon-Avon, William Shakespeare’s hometown. We’ll visit Anne Hathaway’s Cottage, the 500-year-old thatched house, surrounded by gardens, where The Bard’s wife was born. Later, we’ll drive to Oxford to discover this storied university city on a walking tour with our tour guide. Tonight, we’ll enjoy a farewell dinner with our group (and take some full group photos). Sadly, our wonderful vacation ends this morning but we take home once-in-a-lifetime memories! (B)
