This morning, after breakfast, we’ll enjoy a guided sightseeing tour in Lisbon where we’ll see such sights as Jeronimos Monastery and Cloister, with photo stops at Belem Tower and the Monument to the Discoveries. The Sisterhood will be on the move today! First, after breakfast and check-out from our hotel, we’ll journey to Obidos, where we’ll take an orientation walk of this charming medieval town. Next, we’ll head to Nazare where we’ll have time to browse and shop. From here, we’ll head to Alcobaca to visit the Church of Santa Maria Monastery. Last, we’ll stop in Fatima to visit the Sanctuary of Our Lady of the Holy Rosary as we make our way to Tomar.(B, D) Hotel: Dos Templarios
This morning, we’ll visit the Convent of Christ before making our way to Coimbra, where we’ll explore the University, the oldest in Portugal and one of the oldest in the world. Next, we’ll take a scenic drive to beautiful Porto. (B) Hotel: NH Collection Porto Batalha
This morning, we’ll embark on a guided sightseeing tour including a panoramic drive to the mouth of the Douro River and a visit to the cathedral. We’ll visit the Church of São Francisco and the Arabian Hall in the Stock Exchange. Next, we’ll enjoy a Port wine tasting at the famous Sandeman & Co Port Wine Cellar. This afternoon you’ll have a bit of free time to relax before we join together for a unique view of Porto on this evening’s excursion featuring a sightseeing cruise along the Douro River, followed by an authentic Portuguese dinner with drinks at a local restaurant. Today, we’ll head to Guimaraes to explore this medieval town. Next, it’s on to Penafiel to visit the gardens of the Quinta da Aveleda winery and enjoy Portuguese tapas tasting. We’ll also take a scenic drive through the port wine vineyards en route to Viseu. This evening, we’ll dine together at the Forno da Mimi where we’ll enjoy local specialties and wines. This morning, we’ll visit the Jewish Museum in Belmonte. Afterward, we’ll discover the tradition and taste of authentic Portuguese olive oil in a 20th-century olive-oil-factory-turned- museum. Next, we’ll head to Evora where we’ll visit a Cork Factory to learn about this traditional artisanship of Portugal. (B, D) Hotel: M’ar De Ar Muralhas
Today, we’ll enjoy a guided walking tour in Evora including visits to the Gothic cathedral, the Sao Francisco Church, and the Ossuary Chapel. You’ll have free time for lunch. Today, after breakfast, we’re going to enjoy an excursion to the Promontory of Sagres, Cape St. Vincent, and Lagos. You’ll be able to take in the breathtaking views of the sweeping southern coastline of Portugal in Algarve. Stand on the Promontory of Sagres and Cape St. Vincent to gaze at the glorious beaches, postcard-perfect fishing ports, and towering cliffs along the sea. This evening, we’ll bask in the beauty of the Algarve, Portugal’s enchanting southern coast, at our wonderful group dinner featuring traditional southern Portuguese cuisine and drinks at a popular restaurant. This morning, we’ll take a beautiful scenic drive along the Serra da Arrábida with views of the Tróia Peninsula. Later, upon arrival in Azeitao, we’ll visit a traditional tile workshop where distinguished antique collector Antonio Soares Franco creates his ceramic masterpieces by hand in the style of his ancestors. Afterward, we’ll return to Lisbon. This evening, we’ll enjoy a farewell dinner at our hotel. (Breakfast, Dinner) Hotel: Mundial
Sadly, all good things must come to an end. We’ll be transferring everyone back to the airport for our flights home. We know that you’ll be taking unforgettable memories and your new BFFs home with you in your hearts. (B)
This is a moderately paced itinerary that involves some longer days and more activities. Expect some early hotel departures, and limited time for day time rest and rejuvenation as the itineraries are designed to ensure that you see as much as possible in these wonderful destinations. This may include longer coach journeys and guests should be able to join a walking tour lasting 1-2 hours with stops possibly over uneven terrain. Guests should have reasonable health and mobility and be comfortable with standing for longer periods of time with no difficulty.
