OUR ITINERARY

April 8, 2026

Welcome to Florence! Upon arrival, your driver will meet you at the Arrivals Hall in the airport and transfer you to our beautiful hotel in Montecatini Terme. You’ll have the entire day and evening to rest and relax as you prepare for the start of our tour tomorrow. This evening, join your Group Leaders for an informal Meet & Greet to get to know your new Sisters. (No meals are included today)

April 9, 2026

Our tour opens in the famous spa resort town of Montecatini Terme, nestled in the heart of the rolling hills of Tuscany. Your day is free for independent exploration or, enjoy some time at the pool and spa with your Sisters. This evening, we’ll kick off our Tuscany adventure together at a Welcome Dinner where regional foods and Italian wines abound. (Breakfast and Dinner included)

April 10, 2026

Today, we’ll enjoy a guided tour of Lucca, Tuscany’s best-kept secret. Discover Renaissance walls, Romanesque churches, and medieval streets flanked by towers. Enjoy some independent exploration time with your Sisters before we set off for Borgo a Mozzano where we’ll see the Ponte del Diavolo (Devil’s Bridge) and the nearby remains of the Gothic Line – the Germans’ last defense during WWII. Later we’ll visit the Museum of Liberation and see authentic fortifications and bunkers. Next, we’ll make our way to a Tuscan winery and learn about the art of winemaking as we taste local varieties. This evening, enjoy dinner independently with your Sisters. (Breakfast included)

April 11, 2026

This morning, we’ll head to Florence for an extensive walking tour showcasing the beautiful “Cradle of the Renaissance”. At the Piazza del Duomo, you’ll see the ornate façade of the Cathedral of Santa Maria del Fiore and the gilded bronze doors of the Baptistery dedicated to St. John. Take in views of the Piazza della Signoria and Santa Croce Square before enjoying the remainder of your day with your Sisters to explore this unparalleled city as you choose. This evening, we’ll dine together at a wonderful local restaurant. (Breakfast and Dinner included)

April 12, 2026

Today you’ll get to choose what you’d like to do! Would you like to learn more about Montecatini’s history during a half-day guided walking tour and visit to the historic Tettuccio Spa, known for the health benefits in its mineral waters? Or, would you like to journey to Siena for a full day that includes a walking tour through its narrow Gothic streets, getting to know the local lifestyle in a contrada (neighborhood) whose community is centered around the colorful Palio horse race? Whatever you choose, you’re sure to have fun with your Sisters! (Breakfast included)

April 13, 2026

Today, we’ll explore historic sites in the ancient maritime Republic of Pisa, including the Piazza dei Miracoli, or “Field of Miracles” (UNESCO). You’ll want to keep your camera handy at the famous Leaning Tower of Pisa. Be sure to visit the Baptistery, the largest in Italy. This evening, we’ll travel to the quiet countryside to learn the secrets of traditional Tuscan cuisine. We’ll partake in a hands-on cooking class, using local ingredients and culinary techniques that have been passed down for generations. Of course, we’ll enjoy our freshly prepared meal for dinner together. (Breakfast and Dinner included)

April 14, 2026

Today, we’ll have a glorious experience exploring the unique Cinque Terre. We’ll discover a magical land nestled between the mountains of the mediterranean that is nearly inaccessible. We’ll travel by rail and boat past terraced vineyards and stunning panoramas on our way to a string of colorful fishing villages that sit along the area’s breathtaking, rugged coastline. Our local guide will help us explore some delightful towns in the area, where you’ll hear tales of the region’s past and present. You’ll feel like you stepped into a postcard on this UNESCO World Heritage site. Our day will come to a close as we taste the area’s flavors at a local shop, sip wine made in the region, and try some local treats. (Breakfast included)

April 15, 2026

You’re in for a real treat today as we visit one of the treasures of Tuscany – San Gimignano! At a nearby cheese farm, we’ll learn the famous pecorino cheese is made before sampling it ourselves. You’ll want to soak in the breathtaking views as we travel to this hilltop village. We’ll explore this enchanting medieval town, from its famous 14 towers to its magnificent vistas overlooking vineyards. Don’t forget to try some gelato during your free time in the village with your Sisters! This evening, we’ll enjoy our Farewell Dinner at a Tuscan feast of traditional cuisine and wines set in the countryside. (Breakfast and Dinner included).

April 16, 2026

Sadly, our time together has come to an end. Depart with many wonderful memories and new friends as our transfers take us back to the Florence airport for our flights home. (Breakfast included).

PLEASE READ THIS INFORMATION CAREFULLY

  • There will be a maximum of 24 Sisters plus your Sisterhood Travels Group Leader. Roommate matching is available.
  • International airfare is not included in your pricing. You will fly roundtrip Florence (FLR)
  • You can arrive at any time on April 8, 2026, and depart at any time on April 16, 2026.
  • Check-in time at our arrival hotel is at 3:00 pm.
  • All international flight arrangements must be submitted to Sisterhood Travels on or before December 9, 2025. If you need help making flight arrangements, or to submit your independent flight arrangements, please click here for Airfare Information.
  • Arrival transfers are provided only on April 8th from the Florence airport to our hotel. Departure transfers are only provided on April 16th from our hotel to the Florence airport. If you arrive or depart outside these days and times, or you’re needing transfers or hotels elsewhere, you are responsible for making your own arrangements at your own expense.
  • In Italy, some of the most unique sightseeing can mean accessing locations restricting tour bus circulation, especially in historical areas such as Lucca, Pisa, Siena, San Gimignano, and Florence. You must be prepared to walk to get to some of these areas.
  • In Florence, you must be prepared to walk approximately 3 miles throughout the day to complete our sightseeing over flat, but cobblestoned streets with narrow sidewalks.
  • Most museums in Florence are closed on Mondays, including the Academy Gallery (Michelangelo’s David) and the Uffizi. Most museums in Florence require reservations to access entry and no longer allow group reservations.
  • You may be required to apply for an ETIAS visa waiver, for a fee, when visiting Italy, depending on whether or not the European Union implements this requirement before your trip. We will notify you well in advance if this is necessary.
  • Many hotels in the European Union charge tourist taxes of 1-5 Euros per person, per night. These cannot be prepaid so please be prepared to pay them if required.
  • Please don’t schedule any optional excursions on your own for this trip, as we cannot promise that you will arrive in time at any location to make your independent excursion. Sisterhood Travels won’t be liable for any expense you incur because of this.
  • Individual gratuities for your Tour Director, local guides, and drivers are not included in your pricing. We will provide you with tipping guidelines for your trip
  • Travel Insurance is highly recommended and is not included in your pricing. We will send you a quote via email.
  • We cannot accommodate wheelchairs or assistive mobility devices on this trip.
  • There are no refunds for unused portions of this tour.
  • Dates and times of itinerary as well as hotels listed are subject to change without notice due to operational, weather, or logistical reasons.
  • Any optional expenses or expenses related to anything not specifically listed in this itinerary are not included.
  • You will receive an invitation soon after you book your trip for our travel app, “Trip Plans”. You will need to download this app to your smart phone as this is where you will find the most up-to-date, accurate information regarding your itinerary in addition to all of the critical information you need to know.

This is a consistently robust itinerary that is likely to be filled with a combination of long, active days, several early hotel departures and some long journeys by coach. There may be limited time for rest and rejuvenation as you explore these amazing destinations. There may be multiple flights and travel by non-traditional means such as safari vehicles, rickshaws/pedicabs, etc. Guests should have reasonable health and mobility and be capable of walking 1-2 miles over time over potentially difficult terrain which may include hills. Guests should be comfortable with standing for longer periods of time with no difficulty.
