This immersive journey through Venice, Florence, and Rome is ideal for women who are comfortable with extended walking, standing, and full sightseeing days. From navigating Venice’s maze of bridges to exploring the Vatican Museums and the vast ruins of Ancient Rome, this itinerary blends art, culture, and adventure, inviting you to truly experience Italy’s most iconic treasures.

Walking & Standing – Expect extensive walking on multiple days of the trip, often across uneven terrain such as cobblestones, bridges, piazzas, and ancient pathways. Many of Italy’s most historic areas are pedestrian-only and require navigating stairs (sometimes without handrails) and narrow streets where motorcoaches cannot operate. In Venice, you’ll cross numerous bridges and walk through the city’s winding alleys. In Florence, guided walking tours cover several hours through Renaissance landmarks and museums. In Rome, touring the Vatican Museums, Sistine Chapel, and Colosseum involves considerable walking and standing, often with limited opportunities to sit. Comfortable, supportive footwear is essential.

Terrain, Transport & Accommodations – You’ll experience a range of terrain from stone bridges and medieval streets to archaeological sites and museum corridors. A moderate level of fitness and stamina will enhance your enjoyment of this itinerary. Transportation between cities includes a private coach ride from Venice to Florence (approximately 3½ hours) and a high-speed train from Florence to Rome, while luggage is transported separately by private vehicle.
As with many historic European properties, elevators may not always be available, and stairs are common.

Pace & Participation – This is a full and active itinerary designed to make the most of your time in Italy’s greatest cities. Days are rich with guided sightseeing, hands-on cultural experiences, and opportunities to explore independently. You’ll be on your feet for much of the day, balanced by free time to relax, shop, or enjoy Italy’s legendary cuisine.
