New Zealand: A Journey That Changes You

An 18-day Sisterhood adventure across both islands.

There are journeys that feel like vacations… and then there are journeys that shift something in your soul. Our 18-day adventure through New Zealand is one of those rare experiences — where dramatic landscapes, heartfelt moments, and the magic of Sisterhood come together in a way you’ll never forget. This is a once-in-a-lifetime opportunity to explore both the North and South Islands of New Zealand, each offering its own stunning beauty, cultural richness, and unforgettable experiences — all in one extraordinary trip.

We begin in Auckland, the “City of Sails,” where volcanic peaks meet vibrant harbors and Polynesian culture breathes life into every neighborhood. From there, we journey south to the geothermal wonders of Rotorua and the rich traditions of the Māori people, where we’ll gather around a hangi feast and connect with culture through story, song, and spirit. In Wellington, we’ll explore New Zealand’s buzzing capital and discover why it’s also one of the world’s great hidden food cities before stepping into the cinematic world of The Lord of the Rings on a behind-the-scenes tour that brings Middle Earth to life.

Then, it’s time to sail across the stunning Cook Strait to the South Island, where each turn of the road reveals something extraordinary — from the albatross-covered cliffs of Dunedin to the serene majesty of Aoraki / Mount Cook. We’ll paddle a traditional Māori waka in Christchurch, stand in awe beneath 4,000-foot cliffs in Milford Sound, and toast our travels under the southern sky during a lakeside BBQ in Queenstown.

Whether you’re coming with a friend or joining us as one of our many solo women travelers, you’ll be surrounded by a warm, welcoming group of like-hearted women. Our New Zealand journey is thoughtfully curated to blend iconic sights with authentic cultural experiences, all while allowing time for connection, reflection, and joy. This is your chance to see one of the most beautiful places on Earth, not just as a tourist, but as a Sisterhood.

Activity Level:

Moderate

This 18-day journey through New Zealand’s North and South Islands is designed for women who enjoy full sightseeing days with moderate walking,. While not strenuous, this itinerary does require good overall mobility, steady footing, and the ability to comfortably participate in daily touring and outdoor experiences.

Walking & Standing

Expect moderate walking on most days as we explore New Zealand’s urban neighborhoods, forest trails, coastlines, and historic sites. Walking surfaces vary and may include pavement, boardwalks, gravel paths, forest floors, gentle inclines, and steps or uneven ground. City tours in Auckland, Wellington, Christchurch, Dunedin, and Queenstown involve short stretches of walking between landmarks with some standing during commentary. Experiences such as the Redwood Forest in Rotorua, Willowbank Wildlife Reserve, Maori cultural sites, and Larnach Castle’s gardens involve easy-to-moderate walking on natural terrain. Nature walks in Aoraki/Mount Cook National Park are relaxed but may include uneven footing, small hills, or loose gravel. While none of the walks are strenuous, guests should feel comfortable walking one to two miles in a day at a gentle pace.

Terrain & Transport

This itinerary features private motorcoaches, ferries, 4WD vehicles, gondolas, and short walks between transport and attractions. Boarding ferries and the Skyline Gondola may involve ramps or steps with handrails. Our journey to Milford Sound includes a full day with extended driving, offering some of the most scenic landscapes in the country. The off-road 4WD excursion in Queenstown travels over bumpy, uneven tracks, requiring guests to climb in and out of vehicles and maintain balance during movement. The steamship ride and lake cruise also require steady footing while boarding and moving around the vessel.

Tour Pacing

The pace of this itinerary is active yet thoughtfully balanced, with a blend of immersive sightseeing, scenic travel days, cultural experiences, and restorative free time. Several afternoons are intentionally left open to allow guests to relax, explore independently, or enjoy time with their Sisters at their own rhythm.
