Welcome to Melbourne, Australia! Once you pass through immigration and customs, you’ll meet your driver in the Arrivals Hall and be transported to our hotel. Today is yours to rest, rejuvenate, and relax. Perhaps this evening, you’ll join your Sisters for an informal get-together in the hotel. No meals are included today.

This morning, we’ll meet our private guide and experience the best of Melbourne on our captivating half-day city tour. We’ll start our tour with an outside visit of St. Paul’s Cathedral and State Library Victoria.

After, we’ll continue to the Queen Victoria Market. This historic market is a foodie’s paradise. You can find everything from fresh produce to gourmet foods and souvenirs. Here, we’ll indulge in a special high tea featuring mouth- watering treats, specialty teas, coffee, and a glass of champagne.

Later, we’ll embark on a short riverside stroll to join a delightful cruise along the picturesque Yarra River. It’s not just a leisurely voyage; it’s a chance to capture Melbourne’s iconic city.

This evening, we’ll take an excursion to see the world-famous Penguin Parade on Phillip Island. Experience the magic of little penguins returning home at sunset to one of the largest penguin colonies in Australia. Watch as these beloved fairy penguins waddle from the ocean to their burrows in the sand around you. You’ll get up close and personal from the special Penguins Plus grandstand. Today, we have an exciting day planned as we head out of town to sample award-winning wines and enjoy lunch at the TarraWarra Estate and Winery in the Yarra Valley. This evening, you’re in for a real treat as we experience our incredible walking food tour in the foodie capital of Australia! (Breakfast, Lunch, and Dinner)

This morning, we’ll fly together to Hobart, Tasmania, home of the famed Tasmanian devil. As the second oldest of Australia’s state capitals, Hobart has a wild convict past and a rich history still evident in its beautifully restored Georgian buildings and colonial cottages. Upon arrival, we’ll join our Tour Director for a walk in Hobart’s waterfront district where you’ll see beautiful historic buildings and hear wonderful stories about the hard-working convicts, explorers, and entrepreneurs that built this city. Tonight, we’ll dine together at one of the oldest pubs in Australia, Shipwright Arms. (Breakfast and Dinner)

September 7, 2025

Today, we’ll travel to the remote and rugged Tasman Peninsula, making stops at the scenic blowhole, Devil’s Kitchen, and Tasman Arch coastal formations. We’ll also visit Port Arthur Historic Site, which began housing convicts in the 1830’s.

You’re going to have a devilish good time meeting the world’s largest carnivorous marsupial – the Tasmanian Devil. We’ll witness a feeding presentation and learn how the Unzoo is helping save the endangered devils with natural habitat spaces. Take time to stroll the bushland trail and see kangaroos, cheeky parrots, wallabies, echidnas, and nearly 100 bird species. By the way, our admission helps preserve the Tasmanian devil.

One of the country’s most important heritage sites, Port Arthur will bring to life Australia’s convict history. On our private guided tour, we’ll meet some of the people who have passed through this place, walk in their footsteps, and hear their stories. It was not just hardened criminals but women and children who found their way here as well. See 30 historic buildings, ruins, restored homes, and the beautiful heritage gardens. Today, we’ll fly to South Australia’s capital city, Adelaide, home to world-class art, live music, major festivals, must-try restaurants and amazing wineries. The remainder of the day is yours to explore independently with your Sisters. (Breakfast)

September 9, 2025

Prepare for an incredible day! Early this morning, we’ll depart Adelaide and travel by motorcoach and ferry to Kangaroo Island, one of the world’s last unspoiled habitats. We’ll visit Seal Bay Conservation Park and Flinders Chase National Park, a sanctuary for native Australian animals, including kangaroos, wallabies, and koalas.

The stunning views of the Australian sea lion colony and the neighboring coastline make Seal Bay an essential experience on Kangaroo Island. There are no enclosures or cases at Seal Bay. Instead, you will be taken into the heart of the colony on a private tour with a Park Ranger. You’ll learn how these endangered animals hunt, surf, rest, interact with their pups and defend their territory. This is a truly exceptional wildlife experience not to be missed. Keep your camera handy for some terrific photo ops! Later, stop for a walk on Remarkable Rocks, with stunning views of the sea. Next, we’ll visit Admirals Arch, a unique rock formation and home to a colony of New Zealand fur seals. Return to Adelaide late this evening. (Breakfast and Lunch)

Today, we’ll enjoy a tour of the capital of the Northern Territory, where we’ll see the elegant colonial architecture of the city’s historic buildings that survived Cyclone Tracey in 1974. We’ll visit the splendid Botanic Gardens, and beautiful East Point as well as spend time at the fascinating Darwin Museum. Tonight, we’ll enjoy a beautiful dinner cruise in Darwin Harbour. (Breakfast and Dinner)

Today, we’ll journey to Kakadu National Park, Australia’s largest national park and a UNESCO World Heritage Site. The park is home to exceptional natural beauty and a unique biodome. We’ll take a scenic cruise and then explore ancient Aboriginal rock petroglyphs at Nourlangie Rock and, we’ll learn more about the history of the area at the Warradjan Aboriginal Cultural Centre. As we cruise the unspoiled waterways of the Yellow Water Billabong, enjoy incredible scenery with the opportunity to spot water buffalo and an abundance of bird species such as Whistling Ducks, Magpie Geese, and Sea Eagles. Keep an eye out for crocodiles basking on the banks or even swimming alongside your boat. (Breakfast, Lunch, and Dinner)

Today, we’ll fly to Cairns, “Gateway to the Great Barrier Reef”. The rest of the day and evening is yours at leisure with your Sisters. Perhaps you’ll choose to explore the Cairns Night Markets, whose vendors sell a vast array of souvenirs, delicious foods, and the work of local artisans and designers. (Breakfast)

This morning, we’ll embark on a memorable day trip to the Great Barrier Reef via a luxury catamaran. You’ll be able to snorkel, dive, swim, or simply soak up the sun, all while relishing a delicious buffet lunch and the company of marine experts.

The Great Barrier Reef is one of the world’s most remarkable natural wonders, a UNESCO World Heritage-listed site, and a must-visit destination for travelers seeking an unparalleled marine adventure. Stretching over 2,300 kilometers (1,430 miles) along the northeastern coast of Australia, this breathtaking ecosystem is a mosaic of vibrant coral reefs, crystal-clear waters, and diverse marine life. The crew will choose the best reef location for the day. We’ll enjoy morning tea, engage with the knowledgeable crew, and learn about marine life on our way. Later, we’ll sail back to Cairns and return to our hotel. (Breakfast and Lunch)

This morning, we’re going to enjoy a special visit to Koala Gardens where we’ll see Australia’s famous animals including kangaroos, wombats, quokkas, wallabies, gliders, and of course, the famous salt-water crocodiles. We’ll have a chance to see koalas doing what they do best – eating, sleeping, and looking adorable. Before our visit ends, you’ll be able to take your photo with a koala. After our included lunch, the rest of the day is free to enjoy with your Sisters. (Breakfast and Lunch)

Today, we’ll travel through the heart of the Outback. Keep a lookout for red kangaroos, dingoes, camels, and feral horses, known as “Brumbies.” We’ll visit the magnificent Kata Tjuta (the Olgas), a geological spectacle of some 36 brilliant domes.

Our evening begins with canapés and chilled sparkling wine upon a dune top overlooking Uluru. As the sun sets and darkness falls, listen to the sound of a didgeridoo and sit down for an unforgettable dining experience. Enjoy a bush tucker inspired menu along with a selection of Australian wines and beers. Afterward, sit back and listen to a star talker decode the southern night sky. Before the end of the evening, you’ll be to locate the Southern Cross, signs of the zodiac, and the Milky Way as well as planets and galaxies. From amazing scenery and stargazing to delicious food and wide-open spaces, it’s sure to be a memorable evening! (Breakfast and Dinner)

For an unforgettable experience, this morning we’ll rise early to watch the sunrise at Uluru. You may choose to take an optional sunrise camel ride at your own expense. This once-in-a-lifetime experience envelopes you in the magic of early morning at Ayers Rock, where the shades from the emerging sunlight paint the massive stone formation, changing in hue with each second as the sun rises above the Outback. Later, we’ll travel to Alice Springs for our group flight to Sydney, the unofficial capital of Australia. The rest of the day and evening is yours to enjoy independently with your Sisters. Today, we’ll explore one of the world’s most beautiful cities. We’ll visit the Sydney Opera House for a privately guided tour and then, we’ll travel to Mrs. Macquarie’s Chair in the city’s botanic gardens for a great photo opportunity and sweeping views of the harbor and Harbour Bridge. Next, we’ll visit world-famous Bondi Beach with time to explore on your own. Later, we’ll return to Sydney and enjoy a clearview glass boat signature dinner cruise on Sydney Harbour to see some of the city’s best views. (Breakfast and Dinner)

  • There will be a maximum of 24 Sisters on this tour, including your Sisterhood Travels Group Leader
  • International airfare is not included in your pricing, but all group flights within Australia are included.
  • You will fly into Melbourne (MEL) and depart from Sydney (SYD).
  • You can arrive at any time on September 2, 2025, and depart at any time on September 21, 2025.
  • Check-in time at your arrival hotel is at 3:00 pm.
  • All flight arrangements must be submitted to Sisterhood Travels on or before May 1, 2025. If you need help making flight arrangements, or to submit your independent flight arrangements, please click here for Airfare Information.
  • Arrival transfers are provided only on September 2nd from the Melbourne airport to our hotel. Departure transfers are only provided on September 21st from our hotel to the Sydney airport. If you arrive or depart outside these days and/or you’re needing transfers or hotels elsewhere, you are responsible for making your own arrangements at your own expense.
  • You will need a Visa to enter Australia. This can only be done in advance of travel via the official Australia tourist app and the current cost is AUD 20. There is no need to apply for this visa until after you have made final payment for your trip. Please click this link for all of the information you need.
  • When reserving single accommodations, be advised that single rooms in Australia can be smaller in size than what you are accustomed to in the United States.

This is a moderately paced itinerary that involves some longer days and more activities. Expect some early hotel departures, and limited time for day time rest and rejuvenation as the itineraries are designed to ensure that you see as much as possible in these wonderful destinations. This may include longer coach journeys and guests should be able to join a walking tour lasting 1-2 hours with stops possibly over uneven terrain. Guests should have reasonable health and mobility and be comfortable with standing for longer periods of time with no difficulty.
