Welcome to Madrid! Your driver will meet you in the arrivals hall after you pass through customs and immigration and transfer you to our hotel for the next several nights. Today is yours to rest, relax, or explore independently. This evening, perhaps you’ll join your Sisters for an informal gathering in the hotel lobby. No meals are included today.

Today, during a locally guided panoramic tour of Madrid’s historic center, we’ll see iconic sites such as the Puerta del Sol and Plaza Mayor, where events have been held since the 17th century. We’ll join a local expert to explore the priceless masterpieces of the Prado Museum, which opened in 1819 and boasts the world’s finest collection of art by masters such as Velazquez and Goya. Tonight, is yours to spend as you wish with your Sisters in Madrid. (Breakfast)

This morning, we’ll travel to the hilly town of Toledo (UNESCO), the capital of medieval Spain until 1560, where we’ll embark on a comprehensive tour, highlighting the magnificent Gothic cathedral. Then, prepare to visit the Church of Santo Tome and view El Greco’s masterpiece painting, The Burial of Count Orgaz, before we return to Madrid for a free evening with your Sisters. (Breakfast)

Today, we’ll travel to the extraordinary Moorish city of Cordoba by the AVE high-speed train to reduce travel time and allow us to enjoy more free time in Cordoba. We’ll embark on a walking tour of Cordoba’s well-preserved and historical old Jewish Quarter. Then, we’ll visit La Mezquita (UNESCO), an 8th-century mosque that was converted into the city’s cathedral in the 16th century. We’ll end our day in Seville, considered to be Spain’s “cultural capital” with dinner at a local restaurant. (Breakfast and Dinner)

This morning, we’ll embark on a panoramic tour before arriving at the iconic Plaza de España. Then decide on how you’ll see Seville because it’s your choice! Walk the charming and quaint Santa Cruz Quarter with an expert guide, admiring the orange trees and white-washed houses -OR- see the city from a different perspective with a boat ride on the Guadalquivir River, drifting by timeworn bridges and towers. Later, we’ll visit the Seville Cathedral* (UNESCO) – the largest gothic church in the world – and see Columbus’ tomb and the Giralda Bell Tower. We’ll end the afternoon with a tapas lunch at a local taberna. This evening, we’re going to enjoy an authentic flamenco show (UNESCO) featuring Seville’s top performers. (Breakfast and Lunch)

Today, we travel to Granada, the last great capital of the Moors in Spain before it fell to the Catholic monarchs in 1492. Upon arrival, we’ll join a local expert for a tour of the world-famous Alhambra (UNESCO), a stone fortress overlooking the entire city and serving as a mesmerizing example of Islamic architecture. This evening, a guided tapas tour on foot is on the menu! (Breakfast and Dinner)

This morning, we’ll travel through Spain’s amazing landscape on our way to the Mediterranean coast. Pass by rolling hills dotted with picturesque olive and orange groves before arriving in the city of Valencia. A treasure trove of Roman and Arabic architecture, Valencia is Spain’s third largest city melding historic and modern culture. (Breakfast)

On a panoramic tour of Valencia, you’ll be able to see the City of Arts and Sciences – an ultramodern educational institution. We’ll explore the city’s old town on foot, discovering the history with a local expert. View the ornate towers before wandering through the bustling central market, where we’ll shop side-by-side with the locals. Later, we’ll travel to Albufera, the area where paella first originated. Enjoy a boat ride on the canals surrounding the rice field plantations and then, we’ll visit a traditional fisherman’s home, known as a barraca, and enjoy a paella-making demonstration and an authentic paella lunch. Today, we’ll travel to Barcelona, one of Europe’s most beautiful and exciting cities. The afternoon is at your leisure with your Sisters to explore Barcelona’s fascinating boulevards including the famous Las Ramblas, dotted with colorful bird and flower stalls. (Breakfast)

June 2, 2025

This morning, we’ll embark on a panoramic tour of Barcelona, showcasing the Columbus Monument, Parc de Montjuic, and Antoni Gaudi’s Batllo House and Casa Mila building (UNESCO). A local expert will accompany us on a visit to the awe-inspiring La Sagrada Familia (UNESCO), considered to be the most famous of Gaudi’s works. Work on the basilica began in 1882, and it is scheduled to be completed in 2026 on the 100th anniversary of the architect’s death. As the day draws to a close, we’ll enjoy a fabulous dinner together. Today, take a full day at leisure with your Sisters in the capital city of Catalonia – Barcelona. Delve into the historic Gothic Quarter with quaint shops and eateries, all built into the narrow medieval alleyways. Perhaps you’d like to head over to Park Güell and its mosaic walls, or maybe you’d like to spend some time exploring the shops and street-side restaurants of Las Ramblas. The day is yours to enjoy Barcelona in all its glory. (Breakfast)

This morning, we’ll set out for Girona, a beautiful medieval city known for its Old Quarter. We’ll meet with a local guide and take a tour of the city before enjoying lunch at a local restaurant. Then, we’ll head for the Catalonian coast, where we’ll arrive at our seaside hotel and settle in for the next 3 nights. Costa Brava is an incredibly alluring place, and the perfect region to spend our days together relaxing and exploring. (Breakfast and Lunch)

Today is a free day to enjoy Costa Brava with each other. Maybe you’ll head down to the private beach or venture into the local towns for some souvenir shopping. (Breakfast)

Today, our local guide will meet us at our hotel for an incredible walking tour. First, we’ll head to the beautiful village of Calella de Palafrugell for a coastal walk towards the quaint village of Llafranc. Then, we’ll drive to the Dalí Theatre-Museum, where the surreal outside architecture matches the legendary works inside. After taking in the mind-boggling art of Salvador Dalí, we’ll continue on to the medieval village of Besalu for free time and lunch. We’ll arrive back at our hotel with enough time to relax before our Farewell Dinner this evening. (Breakfast and Dinner)

  • There will be a maximum of 40 Sisters on this tour, including your Sisterhood Travels Group Leader
  • International airfare is not included in your pricing
  • You will fly into Madrid (MAD) and you will depart from Barcelona (BCN)
  • You can arrive at any time on May 23, 2025, and depart at any time on June 7, 2025.
  • Check-in time at your arrival hotel is at 3:00 pm.
  • All flight arrangements must be submitted to Sisterhood Travels on or before January 24, 2025. If you need help making flight arrangements, or to submit your independent flight arrangements, please click here for Airfare Information.
  • Arrival transfers are provided only on May 23rd from the Madrid airport to our hotel. Departure transfers are only provided on June 7th from our hotel to the Barcelona airport. If you arrive or depart outside these days and/or you’re needing transfers or hotels elsewhere, you are responsible for making your own arrangements at your own expense.
  • When reserving accommodations, be advised that rooms in Europe are often smaller in size, especially for single occupancy.
  • Effective for travel in 2025, all visitors who do not need a visa to enter Europe will be expected to apply for an ETIAS visa waiver, for a fee, when visiting a Schengen Area Country. To identify Schengen Area Countries and to complete the ETIAS application, please CLICK HERE. This can wait until 2025.
  • The Seville Cathedral requires that visitors adhere to dress codes where open toe shoes, shorts, bare shoulders, and hats are not allowed.
  • Alhambra tickets are not guaranteed and subject to availability per Spanish Governing Authority. On the rare occasion that tickets are not available, we will visit another top Spanish attraction. Complete passport information is required 120 days prior to departure to book tickets to the Alhambra. If passport information is incomplete or inaccurate within 120 days prior to your tour departure, there is a strong possibility that we will be unable to confirm entrance tickets. You will be subject to any additional charges incurred from failing to provide passport information within the designated time frame.
  • On the rare occasion that the Sagrada Familia in Barcelona is not available, we will instead visit another top Spanish attraction. The order of inclusions on this day may change based on the timing of the Sagrada Familia tickets.
  • Please don’t schedule any optional excursions on your own for this trip, as we cannot promise that you will arrive in time at any location to make your independent excursion. Sisterhood Travels won’t be liable for any expense you incur because of this.
  • Individual gratuities for your Tour Director and coach driver are not included in your pricing. We will provide you with tipping guidelines for your trip.
  • Optional Travel Insurance is not included in your pricing. We will send you a quote via email.

This is a consistently robust itinerary that is likely to be filled with a combination of long, active days, several early hotel departures and some long journeys by coach. There may be limited time for rest and rejuvenation as you explore these amazing destinations. There may be multiple flights and travel by non-traditional means such as safari vehicles, rickshaws/pedicabs, etc. Guests should have reasonable health and mobility and be capable of walking 1-2 miles over time over potentially difficult terrain which may include hills. Guests should be comfortable with standing for longer periods of time with no difficulty.
