Hei Helsinki! Finland’s vibrant capital, where history converges with architectural style and combines with a laid-back vibe across beautiful islands and pristine public parks, welcomes you. Today, you have more free time to explore independently with your newfound BFF’s! Today, we’ll join a local expert for an engaging city tour. If Finland’s heart beats in Helsinki, then Helsinki’s core is in Senate Square, home of Helsinki Cathedral, the city’s most iconic building. We’ll walk the streets of empiric-designed Tori Quarters before enjoying some free time in Market Square, the city’s most famous international market. This morning, we’ll escape to northernmost Finland’s winter wonderland onboard a flight to Ivalo and magical Lapland. Like a storybook come to life, Lapland’s culture is steeped in myth and legend. Relish encounters with reindeer and unspoiled views of the northern lights. At the breathtaking Kakslauttanen Resort, you’ll spend two nights in your very own Finnish log cabin (single or double occupancy), indulging in your Finnish sauna and other unique fixtures. We’ll trek north toward Inari on a chase for the northern lights. Today, let’s hit the snow and mush to breakfast aboard an authentic Finnish sleigh. From Kakslauttanen, we’ll head to the home of Santa Claus, an epicenter of Christmas cheer. Among prancing reindeer, learn about Santa’s origins during a meet and greet at his house. Under the Arctic moonlight, a reindeer farmer introduces you to some friendly, Lappish reindeer that will escort you on an exhilarating reindeer safari through remote Kakslauttanen. We’ll gain insight into the importance of reindeer herding to the Sámi indigenous culture. Later, we’ll sip warm berry juice, a Finnish tradition, under cover of blankets surrounding northern Finland’s unspoiled wilderness as we continue the search for the elusive northern lights. (B, D) Hotel: Kakslauttanen Arctic Resort – West Village, Kakslauttanen

Breathe in the fresh Arctic air this morning and step into the role as leader of your own dog sled team. Zoom through the wilderness on a husky safari, driving your husky guides that are as fast as they are adorable. We’ll spend some time getting to know these amazing dogs and learning about their different commands. You’ll also be introduced to the equipment you’ll need to experience this incredible Arctic adventure at its best. Enjoy our last night in the heart of the Lappish wilderness, nestled in your incredible – and private – glass igloo.   • The maximum number on this tour will be 24 women, including your Sisterhood Travels Group Leaders.

  • At the time of your booking, Finland does not require that you be fully vaccinated against COVID-19. Due to the ever-changing rules and regulations, this could change before the final payment and/or departure. 
  • We cannot accommodate mobility assist devices such as wheelchairs and walkers on this tour due to the Arctic terrain. Travelers should be in reasonably good health and able to meet the demands of the activity level for the trip.
  • You must be able to manage your luggage without assistance 
  • Finnish log cabins (small cabins) are equipped with one double bed, one bunk bed, a dining space, two bathrooms (inclusive of the sink, toilet, and shower), a private sauna, and a private fireplace (firewood not included).
  • Glass igloos are equipped with only a private sink and toilet. A privacy curtain lines the base of the bedroom inside the igloo. Guests will have access to a public sauna house to use the shower in the morning.
  • The northern lights are in the Northern Hemisphere from September through April and are only visible when the sky is clear and free of clouds. As this tour is weather-dependent, sightings of the northern lights are not guaranteed.
  • Because the northern lights are a winter event, you will be walking and waiting outdoors while looking for them. It is recommended that you wear sturdy non-slip snow footwear and warm clothing, including thermals, a hat, a scarf, and gloves.
  • If you need a roommate, we will be happy to match you to another traveler, but we will not assign your roommate until final payments are made. If you have asked us to match you, you do not need to search for one in our Facebook group. See Need a Roommate? Below for more information.
  • Your passports must be valid for at least six months beyond your return date to the United States.
  • Effective for travel after November 2023, all visitors who do not need a visa to enter Europe will be expected to apply for an ETIAS travel authorization for a fee when visiting a Schengen Area Country. This is an active itinerary packed with a combination of long, active days, several early hotel departures and long journeys by coach. The itinerary may also involve multiple flights and travel by non-traditional means such as safari vehicles, rickshaws/pedicabs, bicycles etc. Some accommodation may be based on authentic home stays, overnight camping and/or some basic rural hotels adding to the authenticity of the experience. Alternatively, it could include concentrated periods of more strenuous physical activity. Guests should be capable of walking 2-3 miles at a time over potentially difficult, uneven terrain which may include hills. Guests should have the appropriate levels of ability, fitness and good health to safely enjoy the trip.
