Then, we’ll board the Great Western Railway to London, where you’ll have a couple of days to explore the city’s iconic landmarks like Big Ben, the Houses of Parliament, and Buckingham Palace.

Welcome to Scotland! Upon arrival, your driver will meet you at the Arrivals Hall in the airport and transfer you to our hotel in Edinburgh. You’ll have the rest of the day and evening to rest, relax, and rejuvenate. This evening, join your Group Leader for an informal Meet & Greet to get to know your new Sisters. (No meals are included today)

This morning, after breakfast, we’ll see the city like locals during a two-hour walking tour of the Old Town, passing by Victorian houses and cobblestone streets. We’ll explore the Royal Mile, ending at the top of the hill at Edinburgh Castle, where we’ll enjoy some time to explore this historic fortress. The rest of the day is yours to enjoy and independently explore with your Sisters. (Breakfast included)

Today we say goodbye to Scotland and travel toward the scenic Lake District, eternalized through the works of Scott and Wordsworth. Along the way, we’ll visit the UNESCO site of Vindolanda and discover the gritty past of Hadrian’s Wall. Our one-hour guided tour of this working archaeological site will bring the Roman fortress and garrison to life. This afternoon, we’ll stop for a quick break at England’s most famous service station, Tebay. Tonight, enjoy a relaxing evening on the shores of Lake Windermere, our home for the next two nights, after our dinner together. (Breakfast and Dinner included)

This morning, see the area from a different perspective as we set sail on Lake Windermere, England’s largest lake. Take in the tranquil backdrop before we visit the charming village of Grasmere. This afternoon, it’s your choice! You can choose to soak up the romance of the Lake District with a visit to Rydal Mount, the home of poet William Wordsworth, or you can embark on a two-hour guided hike through glacial valleys and along lakeside trails. Whatever you choose, it’s sure to be memorable. This evening, spend some time with Sisters and dine where you wish. (Breakfast included)

This morning, we’ll head to Liverpool, England’s most popular port city. We’ll visit Strawberry Fields, the site where John Lennon came to play as a child, which he later immortalized in the song, “Strawberry Fields Forever”. Here, we’ll learn about the work the Salvation Army does at Strawberry Fields to give young people with learning difficulties the opportunity for work experience. This afternoon, we’ll join a local expert and embark on a two-hour walking tour of Albert Dock and learn about Liverpool’s rich industrial history and connection to the American Civil War, as well as exploring Merseyside’s maritime past. The rest of the day and evening is yours to enjoy with your Sisters. (Breakfast included)

This morning we’ll take a ferry across the Mersey and as Gerry Marsden sang, see “how life goes on day after day.” This public commuter ferry will give us the most spectacular views of the iconic city scape. We’ll continue our journey by motor coach to Shrewsbury, the birthplace of Charles Darwin. Set amidst the glorious Shropshire countryside close to the Welsh border, Shrewsbury is one of England’s finest medieval market towns. Spend time with your Sisters to meander the streets or walk along the river and have lunch. Tonight, we’ll settle into an 18th-century modern boutique hotel, in the heart of a charming Cotswold town before our dinner together. (Breakfast and Dinner included)

After breakfast, we’ll visit Blenheim Palace. Over 300 years old, this World Heritage site was the birthplace of Sir Winston Churchill and still remains his ancestral home. This afternoon, we’ll spend time in Stow, which at 800 feet, is the highest of the Cotswolds’ towns. The Market Square is large and impressive and is a testament to the town’s former importance. You’ll love spending time here being surrounded by town houses, independent shops, antique centers, cozy cafes, and inns, all built in the local stone. (Breakfast and Lunch included).

Our morning will be spent in the city of Bath, where centuries-old history is told with a visit to the Roman Baths. Learn about the indulgence and opulence of a bygone time and see how Bath developed over centuries. After lunch on our own, our journey will continue to Poldark’s Cornwall. Tonight, after dinner together, we’ll enjoy an evening of song and discovery with a local Sea Shanty Band. (Breakfast and Dinner included).

Today we’ll adventure out on a full day tour of Cornwall’s dramatic north coast. With a combination of walking and traveling by motor coach, we’ll hear tales of Cornwall’s tin mining past and learn how this shaped the Cornish landscape we see today. The day will bring us opportunities to capture the beauty of the rugged north coast on foot and with a visit to a typical Cornish town. (Breakfast and Dinner included).

This morning, we’ll visit the Lost Gardens of Heligan, the largest garden restoration in Europe and home to a National Collection of camellias and rhododendrons, bursting with romance and intrigue around every pathway and corner! Later, we’ll explore Cornwall’s idyllic south coast with a local guide on foot and discover what makes this beautiful peninsula so special, followed by a traditional Cornish Cream Tea. (Breakfast included).

Wish the countryside goodbye as we travel on the Great Western Railway to London! Upon arrival in London, we’ll get the lay of the land on a walking tour with a local expert. We’ll take in the exterior of London’s iconic sites on foot, such as Big Ben, the Houses of Parliament, Westminster Abbey, and Buckingham Palace. The rest of the day and evening is yours to explore and dine independently with your Sisters. (Breakfast included).

Today, you’re in for a treat as we step into the formal world of the British Monarchy when we visit the stately and expansive Windsor Castle. His Majesty King Charles III uses Windsor as both a private home and as a Royal residence where formal duties of state are performed. Windsor’s 1,000 rooms comprise the largest inhabited castle in the world, dating back to the 1070’s when William the Conqueror built the original wooden structure. You’ll explore one of Britain’s most visited historic buildings, its precincts, and the State Apartments, which house a delightful collection of Royal art treasures. You’ll have free time for lunch with your Sisters in the quaint town of Windsor before we head back to London. This evening, we’ll join together for our Farewell Dinner at a local restaurant to toast the end of an incredible adventure together. (Breakfast and Dinner included).

This is a moderately paced itinerary that involves some longer days and more activities. Expect some early hotel departures, and limited time for day time rest and rejuvenation as the itineraries are designed to ensure that you see as much as possible in these wonderful destinations. This may include longer coach journeys and guests should be able to join a walking tour lasting 1-2 hours with stops possibly over uneven terrain. Guests should have reasonable health and mobility and be comfortable with standing for longer periods of time with no difficulty.
