Welcome to Morocco. Upon arrival in Casablanca, Morocco’s largest city and a vibrant gateway to the country, we’ll transfer to our hotel to settle in after our journey. Casablanca offers a unique introduction to modern Morocco, where French colonial influences blend with traditional Moroccan architecture along the Atlantic coast. Depending on your arrival time, you may wish to take a short walk, relax at the hotel, or begin soaking in the energy of this coastal city. This evening, we’ll gather with our Tour Manager and fellow Sisters for a Welcome Reception, a chance to connect and officially begin our Grand Moroccan adventure together. Today we’ll journey north through Morocco’s changing landscapes as we make our way to Chefchaouen, the famous Blue City nestled in the Rif Mountains. Known for its striking, blue-washed buildings, Chefchaouen is one of the most photogenic destinations in Morocco. Once settled, we’ll have time to wander through the medina, where shades of blue line every alley and staircase, creating a calm and almost dreamlike setting. It’s the perfect place to explore at a relaxed pace, take photos, and soak in the charm of northern Morocco. (Breakfast and Dinner included)

Today we’ll explore the beauty and charm of Chefchaouen, one of the most iconic towns in northern Morocco. We’ll walk through the blue-washed medina, visit the historic 15th-century kasbah, and see the town’s Grand Mosque. Along the way, browse local artisan shops known for their handcrafted wool garments and woven textiles unique to this region.
After our time in Chefchaouen, we’ll take a short drive into the Rif Mountains to visit the peaceful village of Akchour, a hidden gem surrounded by natural beauty. Here, we’ll enjoy a traditional Moroccan lunch and take in the serene landscapes that make this area so special. Later, we’ll return to Chefchaouen, where the evening is yours to relax or continue exploring with your new besties at your own pace. (Breakfast and Lunch included)

Today we say goodbye to the blue streets of Chefchaouen and continue our journey through northern Morocco toward the coastal city of Tangier.
Along the way, we’ll stop in Tetouan, a UNESCO World Heritage Site known for its strong Spanish influence and distinctive character. During our guided visit, we’ll explore the historic medina, where whitewashed buildings, narrow lanes, and local markets reflect a unique blend of cultures found only in this region of Morocco. By early afternoon, we’ll arrive in Tangier, a vibrant port city where Europe and Africa meet. After a brief introduction to the city, we’ll head to our hotel to settle in and enjoy the rest of the day at leisure. (Breakfast included)

This morning we’ll explore Tangier, a dynamic port city where Europe and Africa meet. With a local guide, we’ll visit the historic old town and the American Legation Museum, gaining insight into the long-standing diplomatic relationship between Morocco and the United States.
Later, we’ll experience Morocco like a local as we board a train to Casablanca, traveling south along the coast. Upon arrival in Casablanca, the rest of the day is yours to enjoy at leisure. You may choose to relax after the journey or begin exploring the city independently. (Breakfast included)

Today we’ll explore the many sides of Casablanca, Morocco’s largest city and a fascinating blend of tradition and modern life. We’ll begin with a guided visit to the impressive Hassan II Mosque, one of the largest mosques in the world and an architectural masterpiece set along the Atlantic Ocean. Next, we’ll experience everyday life at a local market, where fresh produce and regional specialties are brought in daily. It’s a lively setting and a great opportunity to interact with local vendors and see Casablanca beyond the typical tourist path. Later, enjoy free time to explore the city’s Art Deco district, a reflection of its French colonial past, or relax at your own pace. This evening, we’ll gather for a special dinner at Rick’s Café, inspired by the classic film Casablanca, for a memorable night with your Sisters. (Breakfast and Dinner included)

We’ll depart Casablanca today and journey toward Fes, one of Morocco’s most historic and culturally rich cities. Along the way, we’ll stop in Rabat, Morocco’s capital, for a guided visit to the stunning Mausoleum of Mohammed V. This beautifully crafted site showcases traditional Moroccan artistry, from intricate tilework and carved wood to marble and bronze details. We’ll also explore the Kasbah of the Udayas, known for its whitewashed houses, winding lanes, and views over the Atlantic coast. After some free time for lunch, we’ll continue inland to Fes, where we’ll settle into a traditional riad for the next three nights. Staying in a riad offers a more authentic Moroccan experience, with its peaceful courtyard and elegant design providing a relaxing retreat after a day of exploration. (Breakfast and Dinner included)

Today we’ll dive into the rich history and culture of Fes, one of Morocco’s most sacred and fascinating cities. With a local guide, we’ll explore the heart of the city, beginning with a visit to Al-Qarawiyyin University, a UNESCO World Heritage Site and the oldest continuously operating university in the world. Its architecture reflects beautiful Andalusian influence and centuries of scholarship.
We’ll then experience one of Fes’ most iconic sights, the traditional tanneries, where leather has been produced using centuries-old techniques. It’s a remarkable look into one of Morocco’s oldest crafts and a highlight of the city. Our exploration continues with a walking tour through the ancient medina of Fes, a maze of narrow alleyways, bustling souks, and artisan workshops. This morning, we step back in time with a visit to Volubilis, a UNESCO World Heritage Site and one of the best-preserved Roman ruins in Morocco. Dating back to the 3rd century B.C., this ancient city was once an important outpost of the Roman Empire. From here, we’ll experience a different side of the country as we visit a local Moroccan vineyard. Surrounded by olive groves and cypress trees, we’ll enjoy a relaxed lunch and learn about Morocco’s small but growing wine industry, a lesser-known aspect of its culture. We’ll journey south today toward the edge of the Sahara Desert, traveling through some of Morocco’s most diverse and breathtaking landscapes. As we leave Fes, the scenery shifts dramatically as we pass through the Middle Atlas Mountains, where cedar forests, rolling hills, and mountain villages create a striking contrast to the desert ahead. Along the way, we’ll pause to take in the views and experience this quieter, less-traveled side of Morocco.
By afternoon, we arrive in Erfoud, often called the “Gateway to the Sahara.” This desert town has served as the backdrop for several films, including The Mummy and Prince of Persia, and offers our first real sense of the vast desert landscapes that await. (Breakfast, Lunch, and Dinner included)

This morning is yours to enjoy in Erfoud, a peaceful desert town known as the Gateway to the Sahara. Take time to relax at the hotel, explore the surroundings, or simply soak in the slower rhythm of life on the edge of the desert. This afternoon, our adventure truly begins. We’ll set out by 4×4 into the Sahara Desert, traveling across vast, ever-changing landscapes toward our luxury tented camp. Along the way, we’ll stop at a local fossil workshop, where you’ll discover Morocco’s fascinating prehistoric past. This region was once covered by an ancient ocean, and the fossils found here date back hundreds of millions of years. From there, we continue deeper into the desert, crossing the golden dunes of the Sahara as the scenery becomes more dramatic with every mile. By evening, we’ll arrive at our luxury desert camp, where we’ll spend the next two nights under a sky filled with stars — an unforgettable experience in the heart of Morocco. Wake early this morning for one of the most unforgettable moments of our journey — sunrise over the Sahara Desert. As the light spreads across the dunes, the landscape comes alive in shades of gold, orange, and red.
For those who wish, you’ll have an opportunity to experience a traditional camel ride through the desert, a peaceful way to take in the vast beauty of the Sahara. Later, we’ll visit a local date farm, where we’ll learn about the importance of oasis life in this arid region. Discover traditional irrigation methods that have been passed down through generations and continue to sustain communities in the desert. We’ll then travel to the village of Khamlia, where we’ll connect with locals and gain insight into daily life in this unique region. Here, we’ll also experience the powerful rhythms of Gnawa music, a traditional style rooted in sub-Saharan African heritage.
As the day winds down, we’ll return to our desert camp to watch the sunset over the dunes. This evening, we’ll gather for a meaningful conversation about the role of Islam in Moroccan culture, offering deeper understanding of the traditions and way of life we’ve been experiencing throughout our journey. This morning we say goodbye to the Sahara as we journey back across the desert landscape, taking in one last look at the sweeping dunes illuminated by the morning light. Our first stop is the fortified village of El Khorbat, a historic ksar dating back to the 17th century. Here, we’ll explore a unique blend of Berber, Jewish, and Muslim heritage, gaining insight into the cultures and traditions that have shaped this region. A visit to the local museum offers a deeper understanding of daily life and architecture in southern Morocco.
We’ll enjoy a simple, authentic lunch at a community-based restaurant, part of a Sisterhood Supporting Communities experience. This initiative helps preserve local culture while supporting economic opportunities within the village. Later, we continue to Boumalne du Dades, where dramatic landscapes unfold into the stunning Dades Valley. Today we’ll follow one of Morocco’s most scenic routes, the legendary Road of a Thousand Kasbahs, where ancient fortresses rise from the landscape along what was once a vital trade route. We’ll stop at the UNESCO World Heritage Site of Ait Ben Haddou, one of Morocco’s most iconic ksars. This historic village of earthen buildings, defensive walls, and watchtowers has been featured in numerous films and offers a fascinating look into traditional Moroccan architecture.
Continuing our journey, we’ll experience a special Sisterhood Supporting Communities moment with a visit to a women-run tapestry cooperative. Here, we’ll share a homemade meal and gain insight into local traditions, craftsmanship, and daily life in a Berber community. From there, we’ll travel through the breathtaking High Atlas Mountains, crossing the scenic Tizi n’Tichka Pass. Today is yours to experience the magic of Marrakech, with a choice of how you’d like to explore. You may choose to join a guided visit to the stunning Bahia Palace, known for its intricate architecture, peaceful courtyards, and beautifully designed gardens. Or, you may opt to visit the Moroccan Culinary Arts Museum, where you’ll discover the rich blend of Arab, Amazigh, Mediterranean, and French influences that shape Morocco’s cuisine, with time to browse and sample local flavors at your own pace.

Today offers a meaningful connection to the heart of Moroccan culture during a special Sisterhood Women Supporting Women experience. We’ll visit a local women’s training center, where programs are designed to support women in building through culinary training. During our time here, we’ll take part in an interactive Moroccan cooking class, working with fresh herbs and ingredients to prepare traditional dishes like tagine. Beyond the cooking, this experience offers a deeper connection. We’ll hear personal stories from the women in the program and gain insight into the challenges they face, as well as the strength and resilience that defines their journey.
The remainder of the day is yours to enjoy at leisure with your Sisters in Marrakech. This evening, we’ll gather for a special Farewell Dinner, celebrating the incredible experiences, cultural connections, and friendships formed throughout our journey across Morocco. ARRIVALS & DEPARTURES
- International airfare is not included in your pricing. You will fly into Casablanca (CMN) and depart from Marrakech (RAK)
- You can arrive at any time on March 6, 2028, and depart at any time on March 22, 2028.
- Check-in time at your arrival hotel is at 3:00 pm.
- All international flight arrangements must be submitted to Sisterhood Travels on or before January 4, 2028. If you need help making flight arrangements, or to submit your independent flight arrangements, please click here for Airfare Information.
- Arrival transfers are provided only on March 6, 2028, from the Casablanca airport to our hotel. Departure transfers are only provided on March 22, 2028, from our hotel to the Marrakech airport. If you arrive or depart outside these days and times, or you’re needing transfers or hotels elsewhere, you are responsible for making your own arrangements at your own expense.
ENTRY REQUIREMENTS
- Complete valid passport information is required on or before November 1, 2027. You are required to travel with a passport that is valid for a minimum of 6 months beyond the date of your return. If you fail to submit your information on time, we cannot guarantee your travel arrangements, and you will be responsible for any additional costs incurred.

- Please don’t schedule any optional excursions on your own for this trip as we cannot promise that you will arrive in time at any location to make your independent excursion. Sisterhood Travels won’t be liable for any expense you incur because of this.

GENERAL
- Due to luggage size and weight restrictions, you must bring an overnight bag for the 2-night stay in our luxury camp in the Sahara. Your main luggage will be securely stored during this stay.
- During our stay at our luxury camp in the Sahara, the fully equipped Berber-style tents offer beds, linens, pillow, a flush toilet, running water, shower, and solar lighting to make for an authentic, yet enjoyable stay in the desert.
- Dates and times of itinerary as well as hotels listed are subject to change without notice due to operational or logistical reasons.
- Rates are guaranteed once your deposit has been received and your reservation has been confirmed by Sisterhood Travels. Until trip departure, pricing may change, and any increases in government taxes or fees, mandatory fuel surcharges, or currency exchange rates may still apply.
- We cannot accommodate wheelchairs, assistive devices, scooters, walkers or rollators, or Zimmer-frames. You must be able to ambulate independently with no assistance from devices or others on the trip. It is imperative that you read the activity level description below.

While there is a balance of guided touring and free time, travelers should be comfortable with regular walking, uneven terrain, several longer travel days, and a more adventurous pace as we move through diverse regions of the country. This tour is best suited for those who enjoy active exploration and are comfortable adapting to varying environments.
Walking and Standing
This tour includes guided walking tours in medinas, historic cities, villages, markets, and cultural sites throughout Morocco. Walking distances are generally moderate, often ranging from one to three miles per day, with breaks included. In some cities walking takes place within medinas where streets are narrow, crowded, and not accessible by vehicles. These areas require navigating uneven surfaces, steps, and inclines while walking for extended periods. In Chefchaouen, expect walking through sloped streets and stairways within the blue-washed medina. At historic sites walking occurs on uneven ground, including dirt paths, stone surfaces, and inclines. Travelers should be comfortable standing and walking for one to three hours at a time while sightseeing.
Terrain and Physical Considerations
Terrain throughout the journey varies significantly and includes cobblestone streets, uneven stone pathways, desert sand, mountain roads, and rural village terrain. In the Sahara Desert, walking takes place on soft sand, which can be physically demanding, especially in warm temperatures. The optional camel ride in the Sahara requires the ability to mount and dismount a camel and maintain balance during the ride. The 4×4 desert excursion to reach the camp involves driving over uneven, sandy terrain. Many riads and traditional accommodations may have stairs, narrow corridors, and limited elevator access.
Transportation and Travel Days
This itinerary includes several longer travel days by motorcoach, including journeys through the Rif Mountains, Middle Atlas Mountains, High Atlas Mountains, and desert regions. Some travel days may involve five to seven hours of driving, with scenic and cultural stops along the way. Road conditions vary and include winding mountain passes, rural roads, and desert routes. Travelers should be comfortable spending extended periods seated on the bus. Additionally, one segment of the journey includes travel by train between Tangier and Casablanca.
Altitude Considerations
This itinerary includes moderate altitude exposure, particularly while crossing the High Atlas Mountains at the Tizi n’Tichka Pass. While elevations are not extreme, some travelers may notice mild effects such as shortness of breath. Most activities take place at lower elevations, and altitude-related concerns are minimal for the majority of travelers.
Climate and Environmental Factors
Travelers should be prepared for a range of climates, from mild coastal temperatures in Casablanca and Tangier to cooler conditions in the mountains and warmer temperatures in the desert regions. In March, daytime temperatures are generally comfortable, though evenings and early mornings can be cool, especially in the Sahara Desert and higher elevation areas such as the Atlas Mountains. While the Sahara can warm up during the day, it is typically not extreme heat at this time of year.
